The Hein Cottage-Beautiful 2 bedroom hideaway in the heart of DC

  • Nestled in the woods, our hideaway cottage offers the perfect combination of being secluded yet being close to all amenities. Located in Carlsville, in the Town of Egg Harbor, wineries and shops are less than a mile away. A quick drive will get you to downtown Egg Harbor and the beach. After a busy day exploring all that Door County has to offer, finish the night with a bonfire surrounded by nature. Come relax and enjoy our family friendly open-concept cottage. You'll feel right at home!

    The cottage offers 2 bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen bed and the second bedroom has a bunk bed which has a queen bed at the bottom and a full on top. It is weight rated for adults and 4 adults can sleep in it.

    Sometimes our “Pennisula WiFi" can be a little shaky, inviting you to pause and enjoy the serenity of our remote surroundings. We've even thrown in some classic board and card games for whenever you're craving a dose of nostalgic fun!

Door county vacation

We enjoyed our stay. Toured all of Door county. Enjoyed Door county coffee which is just down the road from the property. Thanks for the nice place to stay.

The Hein Cottage was perfect for our weekend getaway with friends! We loved that the location was private and peaceful and the home itself was very clean and well kept! They supplied everything we needed for cooking / grilling (we did both while staying here) and loved that we were able to have a bonfire in the outdoor pit. The host was so kind too! We would definitely stay here again and would / will happily recommend it to others!

Great Place

My wife and I were able to get away for a quiet weekend in the woods.The house worked out very well for our needs! I'd definitely recommend it.

Wonderful experience

We really enjoyed the stay. Clean, comfortable, spacious. Only problem we had was that the WiFi didn’t work at all and we couldn’t get a signal on our phones. It was a great way to unplug from the world for a few days.

We had a great time in Door County, the house was in a great location, easy to get to all the small towns. House was clean, no central AC but the fans kept it comfortable. Very good communication with owners. Overall we would stay here again.

The indoor space was clean, well laid out and had everything we needed. The bed and pillows in the master bedroom could use an update, they're just poor quality. The outdoor space is nice (wooded and private) however the outdoor furniture was poor quality and some of it broken. We had intermittent Wi-Fi connection but we still had a wonderful time, there is lots to do in the area. We especially liked hiking the state parks, shopping and restaurants in the area.

Nice little Hein Cottage

We enjoyed our stay at the Hein cottage. It was exactly as the pictures reflected, up to date and very clean. The house has a great layout with a split bedroom design. The only problem we had was with the water in the guest bathroom. The shower water was so hot. Even when we turned the handle down the water temp would not cool down. We felt the house is in a great location, close to Egg Harbor and right down the road from Door Peninsula Winery. Overall, we liked the place and would definitely stay there again.

Very clean, cute little house! We had 4 adults (2 couples). We each had our own spaces with comfortable gathering place for sharing stories and vacation memories! The house was well equipped for our stay!
