Excellent!
Me, my husband, and our three young kids stayed here for two nights. Everything was exactly as described and pictured. Deb was incredibly responsive and helpful with recommendations. We would definitely recommend and stay again!

Great place
This was a great place to stay. We had everything we needed. Only one thing we didn't like was there were no curtains in the living room and dining room. We realized this was out of the way and there was no way for anyone to see us from the road, but we are city people. Overall it was a great stay.

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay! I have no kitchen/dining room curtains as I love being able to look out the kitchen window into the woods and the backyard, there are no houses behind mine. The living room has lace curtains, I will consider installing some more window coverings.

Wonderful house and location
This property was exactly as advertised. Beautiful wooded backyard view, easy access to town. Interior was very clean. Linens were soft and comfortable. Great dining table for family gatherings. Highly recommend this property.

Great Stay
This was the perfect location for the river float that we booked with Arapaho Canoe & Raft Rental. It is also close enough to town if we needed any last minute items. Debra was a great host.

Girls weekend away!!!
Me and my girls took off to stay down at Meramec caverns for her birthday! With the help from our host we planned our float trip and our way around town! The house was very nice! Very comfortable the backyard was amazing we had so much fun highly recommend!!!!

Peaceful
It was everything we needed to get away for a few days. We enjoyed the peaceful woods and firepit was great the back deck and grill was nice. We enjoyed the closeness of the river too.

Girls weekend
We got just what we needed, a quiet weekend away without hearing “mom” constantly. It was cozy, kitchen was great to cook in, and it’s in a beautiful and quiet location. Super relaxing with all the birds chirping and deer around. It was great being so close to the Meramec river too. Host was very easy to contact. We will definitely be back.

Very relaxing and convenient with all the amenities of home and more.
We had a wonderful time at nearby parks and the property and owner made us feel right at home with easy check in and out and lots of amenities

Great location
Nice house with a great location to what we wanted to do! Some of the house needs updating like living room furniture & bathroom but kitchen was amazing with everything we needed. Host was great at communicating. I would recommend this VRBO.

I list this as a simple clean home in a peaceful country setting, not as an upscale, up to date place. I do improve the house as needed, keeping it in good repair. The living room and bathroom are clean and functional. We plan to continue making updates as budget allows. We recently purchased new queen bed and bunk beds for more comfortable sleeping. We also recently purchased a new fridge, washing machine and kitchen ceiling fan. Most guests use my home as a launchpad for other activities, such as paddling, hiking, or other outdoor activities, rather than a destination in itself. We aim to help our guests kick back and feel at home like this is their country place, not a newly renovated city hotel. I am sorry you were disappointed with the accommodations. Thanks for staying with us.

This is our second time staying at this property. Mrs. Deb is an amazing hostess. The location was a peaceful slice of country heaven. We enjoyed watching the deer in the back yard and the hummingbirds swiftly move from feeder to feeders as well as the fireflies dancing in the night sky. These are things your don’t get in the city. Although there is a short drive to town the property is situated so that you can get the best of both town and country. Loved our time there.

It was a very comfortable place to stay, had every thing we needed!
The antenna TV wasn't getting good reception due to wind I guess but we were not there to watch TV anyway other than to keep an eye out for weather. Might need to adjust the antenna! The Host was easy to get a hold of, very kind people. The house was clean, and easy to find. It was a very pleasant stay!

I checked out the antenna problem and found the braided cable had mostly worked it's way out of the connector end. I took the TV and cable in to Audio Video Professionals who sold me a new cable, checked out the TV and scanned the channels in. Unfortunately weather affects antenna TV and the stations come from St. Louis, about 70 miles away. I do have a DVD player and some old movies. Also, it is a smart TV and can stream, if a person has an account and knows their password. I'm glad this was reported to me. And that everything else was good!

Very Accommodating
We booked the property for 3 nights. We had plans of visiting our daughter and infant grand baby. The property was lovely and we had everything we needed to get through the cold winter days of Missouri. However, due to a winter storm headed towards our home we had to cut our stay short. While we were there the pipes on my daughter’s home froze. Deb was kind enough to allow my daughter and her little family stay for the duration of our booking. She was extremely accommodating. We are truly grateful. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting a little retreat. It is large enough to enjoy some family time and cozy enough to enjoy some alone time.

Quiet, nice space, beautiful scenery
I stayed for a week by myself for a quiet retreat. The home was comfortable and had everything I needed. The only issue I had was with the shower that made a loud shreeking sound. I notified the host after I left and she said she would get that taken care of. I would definitely consider staying here again.

Second time as good as the first
Last time, I went in the early spring. This time, the leaves were at peak color, the outdoor fire pit was crackling, and when it cooled off, the house's wood stove gave it the perfect comfort level. Deb is a great communicator, and as was true last time, I had a great weekend.

Perfect location
The property is perfectly located on the edge of Meramec State Park. 10 minutes from the Park Visitor Center, access to Meramec River and Wal-Mart and restaurants. Spotless and well-stocked. There is a patio that overlooks the park (I agree with one reviewer who said that it feels that you are in a treehouse). Debra is a fantastic host--extremely responsive and easy to work. This is the perfect family getaway.

Peaceful getaway with the comforts of home
Cozy and comfortable private home. I even got 9-1/2 hours of sleep one night - it's been years! Loved the peace and quiet; sitting out on the deck and staring out into the woods is what I enjoyed the most - watching the many robins, cardinals and other birds and listening to their happy sounds! Close to Meramec State Park, lovely drives through the woods, yet close enough to Walmart (and Imo's Pizza)!

Fantastic house next to Meremac State Park
Fantastic house that has everything you need for a great vacation. Debra has all kitchen equipment that allowed us to cook all of our meals plus a great gas stove if the weather is good to cook outside. All of the beds we used were comfy and the house is in a perfect location. It is right next to town If you want to run to Walmart and grab something but the backyard faces right up to the park so you get to see tons of beautiful birds and and feel like you are in the middle of nature. Debra recommended a fantastic float company and we were able to do a 10 mile float down the Meremac during our stay. I hope I’m able to stay at this house again as it made for an awesome vacation!

Clean, comfortable, quiet country home
Deb is very easy to work with, a delightful hostess. The back deck has a view of the state park, it's almost like being in a tree house. Artwork by local artists decorates the house. The light tubes bring in great natural light during the day. Large well-stocked kitchen. Very comfortable, charming country home. Would be happy to stay here again.

Perfect remote getaway
Comfortable, not ostentatious; I thoroughly enjoyed my quiet weekend here. The hosts met me at the door and gave me a quick orientation on the woodstove and the lay of the land--literally. Ten minutes from great hiking at the Meramec State Park, even less time to shopping for any forgotten/last minute supplies. The house is in very good condition and I recommend it.

Great little place!
The snow made it a bit interesting to get to, but with a 4 wheel drive truck we had no issues. The drive to the house is very nice. The cabin was nicely kept. The kitchen was the most well stocked of the places we have stayed in. The wood stove made for cozy evenings. The internet connection was good and we were able to watch some movies on Netflix with out issue. Because of the snow we did not get to take advantage of the deck or fire pit, but they looked very nice from inside. All in all it was a relaxing and enjoyable weekend. Thank you for such a nice place to stay.

Exactly as shown & described!
After a brief 2-day getaway, I have to say this was one of the nicest places I've ever stayed. There's plenty of privacy and a nice view from the beautiful deck. The kitchen is well-stocked and the bed was quite comfortable. The wifi worked perfectly, by the way, for me - no problem anywhere in the house. It's a quick, fairly easy drive from here into Sullivan or into Meramec State Park on well-maintained roads. We'll definitely be back!

The home and accommodations we’re absolutely tops. Debra is a gracious host.
From the moment I met the owner Debra I knew it was going to be a fabulous weekend. ++++ She met me at the house and went over how to use the wood burning stove, the grill and the use of fire pit outside. Everything was as stated in the description and more. The house is lovely and extremely clean +++. It was a rainy weekend so we never used the fire pit outside but the wood burning stove made our stay so cozy. The house is a gem, from the beautiful grounds to the accommodations in the house, we will be back for sure!!!! Thank you debra for a wonderful experience. We truly enjoyed the walks in the woods when it wasn’t raining and the home you’ve taken the time to appoint beautifully.

Very nice get a way home.
Our host Debra greeted us at the house and had a fire going, very nice and her husband too. What you see in the photo's online is what the house looks like, very nice, cozy, clean and kitchen great. Large deck, plenty of chairs to sit in, with grill and fire pit down below. Will stay again. If any down fall the living room furniture was a little uncomfortable after sitting on it for a while, but we watched several movies, for hours so that is part of the reason. Other than that, I would highly recommend this property. Thanks for a great girls weekend get a way location. Lori

The living room has a Lazy-Boy sofa and a Lazy-Boy love seat. Both ends of both sofa's recline. The middle seat of the sofa does not recline. For the 6th person, I have a chair, the seat is stuffed. I suppose the middle seat and chair could be a little uncomfortable if sitting on it for hours. I try to make my listing as accurate as possible.
