“Room was clean and nicely presented. There is significant building work taking place so restaurant not open (which they did pre-warn me about,), and skeleton staff. However, the staff were super helpful and friendly. Everything closes at 8pm ( bar, front gates etc) so not a place to stay if you are looking to relax of an evening outside of your room. ”

“Very nice hotel, very friendly staff on all three times we interacted. Bed ever so comfy, rooms very lovely and homely. Felt cosy, safe and a lovely nights sleep. Only negative would be I ended up parking in the wrong car park so had to pay more.”

“It's a pretty setting and the room was clean. They seemd a little short staffed and, although the food was good, the tables were dirty and (bizarrely) the host told us the half empty restuarant was 'fully booked'. When we saw many empty tables, we asked the bar tender if it would be possible to order food and he was happy to oblige! Also, the lighting in our room was broken, the only way to have light was to keep the harsh overhead light on. The receptionist promised to send a service person but...

I stopped during the recent heatwave and was pleased I had packed my mini travel fan as my room had the sun in the afternoon, usually this would have been a treat, just not on this occasion. “If you want straight lines and new, this is not for you but. If you’re like us and like a really lovely experience in an old coaching inn you’ll love it here. The staff are fantastic Robert the owner great guy. The breakfast is to die for. On a warm night sitting in the courtyard amongst the greenery and when the lights come on it’s magical.
