  • If you're looking for a place to relax and enjoy the great outdoors, then the Elk House is the place for you! It is situated in the Potato Hills with a sprawling view of the Kiamichi Mountain Range and Valley. It's located near the town of Talihina and is less than 30 minutes away from the Talimena Scenic Drive. This beautiful home is located at Mountain View Retreat and sits on 37 acres with 3 other small cabins. The Elk House is a spacious 4 bedroom home with a fantastic cabin feel.

Great property, excellent views, very comfortable and welcoming cabin. Has all the basic necessities for just bringing your family, plan your gatherings and meals, don’t really have to worry about anything.

Lovely

The place is beautiful . The view was so breathtaking . We enjoyed the fire pit . Host was friendly and responded quickly . We totally enjoyed our time together . Lots of little touches that made it seem like home away from home ❤️

A beautiful getaway with amazing views

Our entire family stayed- and we were very comfortable there. It was peaceful- and the view can’t be beat. The sunrises were great every morning. Very clean property and we can’t wait to stay again! Thanks for accommodating our family. We loved it!!

Luxurious house with beautiful views!

Wish our house was as nice as this gem in the woods! Beautiful views, especially from the sunrooms big (clean) windows. This house has everything you need, just bring your drinks and food. Would really rather keep this place a secret!

Pop’s memorial

The house was even more beautiful than the photos. The whole property is very accommodating! The beds were comfortable and the kitchen stocked! Missy provided information and directions before the trip. It can get tricky driving to remote areas but, the directions were perfect! We enjoyed are stay very much and hopefully can return soon!

Eclipse weekend

We booked over a year ago to watch the eclipse. The Elk house was fantastic! We enjoyed fishing, the stunning view, the beautiful wild flowers. Our hosts even asked us to stay and watch the eclipse with them and made us lunch! We had a perfect weekend, we never left the property, I can’t wait to book our next trip

Wanderlust

Beautiful cabin with well knit amenities. Mountain View and sunroom is mesmerising rising blend of stay. It is difficult to spend more time around fire pit and sitting area. Some kind of insect repellent lamp or candle would have made it easier.

Beautiful area, property and home were very clean and very well stocked.

We were in the area doing some work on a newly purchased property. This was a spacious and beautiful place for R&R after being outdoors all day. Would definitely recommend arriving before dark. Nestled in the country and if you are not comfortable with back roads. Highly recommend will return!

Love Love This Place!

We were looking for a quiet getaway, and this was perfect. The house is huge on the inside, with 4 very comfortable bedrooms. Very clean and well maintained. And fairly remote. Not sure how we were so blessed - but two nights we were there, we sat on the back porch watching thunderstorms lighting up clouds in the distance. Beautiful. The mountain views were great. There are several smaller cabins on the same property, which were empty when we visited - so it was exactly the quiet getaway we needed. (It's about a 15 minute drive into Talihina, where we did go to AJ's butcher shop for groceries a couple of times.) This just became our go-to getaway! We'll be back.

Oklahoma Get Away

Beautiful inside and out! Spacious and well equipped property for all our needs. The views are amazing and are is quiet. We will be back and appreciate everything about this property and the cabins as well. Would not change a thing!
