The Inn the Heights was delightful in all respects. Apartment 2, where I stayed for three nights, is a full on, one-bedroom apartment. It's stocked with everything you need - maybe even better than your own place is! The Inn is tricky to find and there's no sign announcing it. Here's how to find it: the Inn is at the intersection of EAST Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd and Tampa Street. Look for the sign that reads, "Baycrest Academy Child Care Center"; it's right in that parking lot.
There's not much in the way of stores, shops, attractions in this neighborhood. But also, there's none of the "tourist vibe" that's so prevalent in parts of Tampa. If it's tourist stuff you seek, you'll need to drive or take Ubers to them.
There is no check-in desk. After all, this is no Econolodge or Ramada. Rather, Alex, the owner, will send you a text (best ro have a Smart Phone!) telling you the code for the front gate and for your apartment.
Inn the Heights used to be a single-level string of rental units which Alex has lovingly turned into a cheerful, peaceful AirB&B. And it's great.
When I return to Tampa, I won't bother with looking for any other place to stay.
Just great!
