    "Our mini-hacienda is one half block from the down town central plaza with the amazing array of wonderful food, art, museums and shopping anyone could wish to find. At the same time your home base is nestled in a totally contained private home that has been hand-painted and crafted with love and which just "feels good" to be in.

    In the morning you are footsteps away from the Taos "Main Street Bakery" and the smell of fresh breads and pastries baking - after all, you are on vacation!

    At "Blue Elk Casa" you will be staying in one of the most authentic historic Taos vacation rentals offered in Taos, New Mexico. Wonderful casita

The kitchen was well stocked (didn’t have to go out and buy salt and pepper etc). The king size beds were comfy. We liked the hot tub and the private courtyard. Definitely would stay here again.

The home had everything that you could need, including many linens, towels, cleaning supplies, and a washing machine. The close proximity to the town square, skiing, and local attractions were perfect. The house also provided many spaces to work remotely and have a peaceful moment away from the group. The patio was very private and the rooftop provided beautiful mountain views. I would highly recommend the Blue Elk Casa and look forward to coming back soon.

Reviewer Comments: I let the property manager know that the key yo the gate was extremely finicky snd took us quite a while to open it. There’s a trick . S/be replaced. Only one ice cube tray.....which is crazy when there isn’t and automatic ice maker. Place was dusty and patio was dirty ( cobwebs by the hot tub) and we had to clean off the patio furniture....

The bedrooms have king beds and are on the opposite sides of a good size kitchen and large living room. We had 7 people visit for happy hour and the patio fit us all pretty comfortably. We will definitely be back! Thanks Linda!

A wonderful month in Taos in Blue Elk Casa

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Blue Elk Casa is a hidden gem behind a wall on a little street only a long block and a half from the plaza. The kitchen was well equipped for our minor cooking needs, and we had plenty of room to set up and paint. The neighborhood is great for the morning walks. There's always a lot to see and friendly people to wave to. The trips to the basement to wash the clothes were adventures. Steep narrow steps, but I got credit for lots of flights on my Apple watch! I would definitely stay there again.

We love how thw bedrooms are on opposite ends and the kitchen and living are in between the bedrooms, Fully stocked kitchen. The hot tub was a nice feature. I have never felt so much privacy in the middle of Taos. Super Clean!!!!! Great place for two couples or a family of four.

Reviewer Comments: We have stayed at 3-4 rentals close to the Plaza in Taos over the past few years and this was the most disappointing property we have rented. It was not worth the price/night in comparison to other options. The tiny kitchen was a drawback and the parking was laughable. Twice in 5 nights we could not park in front of the property and it was a hassle most of the times we needed to park close. Also, the wireless internet didn't work each day for a full 24 hours and it didn't work at all our first night because the Internet service bill was past due so no service until the owner paid it.
