I will try to be very fair here. The location is very good to explore Tavira on foot. There is a major supermarket right next door, parking at the apartment is free and secure and it is about a 10-15 minute walk to the center of town. The check-in was smooth, with the rental agent meeting us at the gate at a pre-arranged time. In the apartment itself, the beds are comfortable, the linens are excellent and the kitchen is pretty well equipped for making meals. The negatives about the apartment are that the furniture (other than beds) is very uncomfortable. The living sofa is pretty well worn out. It is unusually low to the ground and the cushioning is so worn that you can feel the frame when you sit on it. The only other place to sit is on hard, plastic chairs. The other negative, albeit minor, is that there were absolutely no condiments, not even salt and pepper, so be prepared to buy everything. It would also have been nice to at least have a roll of paper towels. Overall, this is a good place to stay if only for a few days. If the sofa was replaced and there was at least another comfortable chair to sit in, it would improve the stay immensely. As far as Tavira is concerned, it is a quaint, Portuguese town that is absolutely charming. There are many cafes and restaurants, a shopping mall, a stunning old Roman bridge and friendly locals. Definitely worth a stop when visiting Portugal!
