After landing in Montrose and driving to Telluride, we arrived with five children and four adults and could not enter the house. The lockbox code worked, but there was no key inside. We stood outside in the freezing cold for over 30 minutes while I tried, on three different phones, to reach VRBO or the property manager. Our driver eventually had to leave, and we were stuck outside with our luggage and kids.When we finally received a garage code and entered the home, it was in unacceptable condition. A bedroom was in disarray, the kitchen was filthy with food left out, trash piled up, dirty dishes everywhere, and unused food still in the refrigerator. There were also items in the trash that my children should not have been exposed to.Adding to the situation, my child staying in the lowest bedroom saw a rodent running through the house. My daughter and niece were also unable to sleep due to constant loud noise coming from what we believe was a utility or hot water heater room. Maintenance was contacted, but the issue was never resolved, and they had to sleep on the couch for one night.We were promised that the cleaning fee and one night of the rental would be refunded. The cleaning fee was refunded, but despite repeated follow-ups, VRBO has not responded regarding the promised one-night refund. In my opinion, this is dishonest and extremely poor customer service.
