“This property is very close to Kodai-ji, which was very convenient. Also, the host washed, dried, and folded our laundry (a family of 5) while we were out seeing the sites. This was incredibly helpful. Another highlight of our stay was the wonderful welcome tea and tasty breakfast provided during our stay. Although it was a bit more expensive than other options, these benefits were well worth the additional cost.”

"From check in to check out, I have had the most amazing experience. The staff were kind, helpful and very polite. The rooms were comfortable, clean and spacious. The restaurant was beautiful and the chefs special catered course meal was such a treat on my last evening. An elegant dining experience of French and Japanese infusión. Having the breakfast included in the stay was not only conveniente but also very much enjoyed. Wonderful traditional Japanese options as well as western style options did not dissapoint. The shuttle service running every hour to Kyoto station with pickup was also a plus! The neighborhood is right in the centre of well known shrines, landmarks and the famous Gion District. I would recommend this hotel for anyone to stay. 5 stars all the way! Hotel Higashiyama made my stay as a solo travelor not only comfortable but memorable. Thank you!"
