“The property was about as close to Big Bend NP as we could get. The view from the front porch was spectacular (especially at sunrise) and the night sky was incredible. We even saw a small herd of javelinas on the property as we were leaving. The property itself satisfied our needs. The owners gave us great directions to this remote location and tips on what to wear and what supplies to bring. Overall a great experience!”

“Enjoyed the space we had for 10 guests. Everything was clean but for the pots, pans & dish wear (at least to our standards), we didn't mind washing everything before we used the items. Hosts were most generous with all the supplies and linens left for the guests. We also liked the proximity of the grocery store and gas station, even though we only used once. Hosts gave excellent pre stay instructions which we followed specially the notes on shopping in Alpine before arrival, Lowes Grocery store...

“Rarely does anything, any place or anyone OVER-deliver on a promise but the Star Gazer does. The deck cooking area and banos with showers inside and out were my favorite part. The Airstream itself is cozy and clean and the expansive view was life affirming. We had one tiny problem when we arrived but the host picked up our call and quickly talked us through it. I’m giving five stars only because I can’t give 6.”

“We highly recommend staying at this property! We fell in love with the serenity the retreat offers and would gladly return. The drive to Big Bend is around 40 minutes making this location a good spot for travelers to the park. The retreat is fully equipped and we recommend a stop to Alpine for supplies before arriving. Much of what is offered by the owners prior to arrival helps in the planning process. The retreat is off-grid so be prepared to consider conserving resources. The stairs are...

“Fossil Knob Ridge was the perfect home base for exploring Big Bend National Park. We loved being so close to the park and the town of Terlingua. The property had everything we needed and more, including amazing views from every window, comfortable beds, fast Wi-Fi, a fully stocked kitchen, a cute outdoor seating area for star gazing at night, the list goes on! Daryl and Janet were great hosts, and they made us feel welcome and comfortable as soon as we arrived. Easily one of our best trips ever...

“Secluded in an open dessert. This was definitely a place to unwind and de-stress. The stars were overwhelming each night. The camper was a perfect balance for me. Nice and comfortable without diminishing the relationship I was experiencing with the natural beauty of the Chihuahuan Dessert.”
