Arrived approx. 5pm to our rental home after flying in on 10/25/21 and immediately upon opening the door, hit with heat and a foul odor in the house. Dead bugs found on carpets, in kitchen drawers and tile floors. Florida room had dirt/debris on floor. Everything was sticky including all glassware in kitchen. We found a vacuum that barely had suction and began vacuuming smelly carpets, while one of us went out to buy Lysol. Tile floors mopped. Down Home Properties notified the next morning and cleaners requested/arrived a few hours later. They did a good job under our watchful eyes and rewashed several dishwasher loads, vacuumed with a quality vacuum and disinfected bathrooms. Florida room also cleaned. We found out the home wasn't cleaned in over a month! We spent the next few days washing all the bedding and towels to and airing out the house to get the foul odor out. No follow up call or visit by Down Home Properties. Was a proper walk through done prior to our arrival-or was the air conditioning merely turned down? Grass cutters came once in 28 days, bushes overgrown onto front walkway, weeds overgrown. Bed in master bedroom uneven and uncomfortable-had a sheet of plywood under mattress. Repeat customers, very disappointed.
