“Room was very clean with nice furniture and modern shower room, staff fantastic, food amazing. We were in the room right above the kitchen, so very noisy (though quieted down at a reasonable time). The bed was very soft (or maybe worn out?), so every time my husband rolled over, the bed sunk in the middle, causing me to roll towards the middle as well.”

“I was really looking forward to my stay at The Candlesticks. However as soon as I entered, I began to have my doubts. The bar area, where the owner received us, looked particularly shabby and it smelt musty. It was 3pm (an hour after checking-in should have started) and the room wasn't ready. It wasn't such a big deal, but it was another warning sign. I was in a single room, which made a certain saying about a cat spring to mind. “Staff were excellent. Food very good. Appreciated group of 10 having separate area for meals. Not keen on the bath in the bedroom, nowhere reachable to put soap or shampoo. No washbasin in the toilet. Would be better to make shower room with toilet. Bath not easy to get in and out.”

“A wonderful welcome in the middle of the Peak District. Lovely room, very comfortable bed, impeccably clean. Breakfast was fantastic. Would recommend and book again.”

“I stayed there because I had to visit some customers really close. It seems like this place it's more for weddinds or other celebrations than for staying in. The service was not helpful at all. Breakfast it's included but there was a team of people just chatting and nobody came to explain what could I order. I had to go and ask and they were not kind at all. I won't definitely come back.”
