The core problem was the lack of transparency regarding the $200 charge: initially described as a refundable, temporary hold, it was later confirmed as a mandatory, non-refundable Guest Amenity Fee. Compounding this, the amenities included in this fee were never communicated by staff, leading us to pay for services we did not use. However, the most egregious issue was the staff's tipping behavior. On multiple occasions, I felt intensely uncomfortable due to the visible negative reactions from certain staff when no gratuity was provided. This unsolicited pressure contrasts sharply with every other hotel visited during our US trip. Management must address this uncomfortable tipping culture immediately and consider implementing cashless tipping solutions for international guests.
