“This hotel is centrally located, and the heritage and historic elements are very interesting. However, it is way overpriced for the experience. We arrived quite late (about 9pm) and had a less than enthusiastic welcome from reception staff, which I would describe as professional but chilly. The room was spacious but the decor is depressing; I recognise they are trying to retain the historic aspect but the furniture is dark and uninspiring. One of the bathroom tumblers still had toothpaste...

“Wonderful property, large 1 bedroom apartment on ground floor, with kitchen, toaster, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine & clothes rack. 2 minutes walk to Hutt St, for lots of bars and restaurants, also on Hutt St buses for the loop route. Free parking on Hume St (weekend only). Hume St is a nice quiet street. Perfect for long or short stays. I will definitely recommend to others.”

“There was maintenance work being done on our booked room but the check in staff were excellent and quickly moved us to another room which was an upgrade without us asking. ”

“Called reception before staying as I wanted to clarify the room size ( the Expedia site said 3m sq) - no answer and no call back. I booked anyway. Reception staff member was fine, however the room was not. Dining table sticky with something - lucky I had antiseptic wipes. The bathroom had glue stuck to the floor in multiple areas and the toilet had yellow residue around the rim and a broken toilet seat. The shampoo/conditioner/body wash was on the floor of the shower and looked grubby. The...
