Our stay at the Durant Arms was first rate, and we would return if given an opportunity to travel to the area again. Given the long history of the Inn, we were surprised and pleased by the modern amenities in the room and bathroom. Alan was a welcoming host and fantastic innkeeper. The pub had excellent service and amazing food. Highly recommended!

We loved this Inn! Such a charming place to stay. The pub was great and was a hangout for locals. The food was very good and they served a full breakfast. It was a little outside Totnes, but we liked the quietness outside the town. Allen was an amazing host and took very good care of us. We enjoyed shopping in Totnes and especially touring the Berry Pomeroy Castle ruins - both nearby (by car). I wish we were able to spend more time at Durant Arms!

Our stay at the Durant Arms recently was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and tidy and the breakfasts were good with plenty of choice. I would recommend this hostelry to anyone.

Wonderful pub with bags of character. The Landlord and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. Some decent ales and good food with generous portions. Quiet, peaceful nights sleep in comfy bed in a nice room. Breakfast was good. Parking is limited but not a major problem. Will definitely return.

A lovely comfortable room

A really lovely comfortable room with a nice view of the little village of Ashprington. Great pub attached with a fabulous menu and delicious food. Couldnt fault our stay and would definitely stay again.

Everything You Could Want

We had a fantastic stay in this hotel, situated in a beautiful village with wonderful views close to lots is surrounding points of interest. The room was very clean and modern and the complimentary breakfast was a great touch. We’d happily stay again in the future.

The hosts Alan and Leslie were very welcoming as were all the staff especially Dan. We had a lovely couple of days exploring South Devon and the evenings were spent back at the Durant Arms. we were made to feel very welcome not only by the staff but all of the locals we met. The food is very good with a wide choice and chef also offers some very nice curries. Breakfast was also great with plenty of choice quality options. It is very rural and quiet and offered some lovely walks with different options to eat out within walking distance if you needed them. (we didn't) The food at this place was lovely. We don't tend to visit the same place twice but we would make an exception here. Thank you Team Durant Arms!

Lovely village pub setting. Our room was both clean and well appointed. We really enjoyed dinner and breakfast during our stay. A very pleasant night away, definitely recommended.

Newly refurbished rooms above a great pub. Room very comfortable, staff very friendly and great food and beer. Highly recommended.
