Wabi Sabi - An All Naturally Crafted Lakeside Retreat
- Wabi Sabi | An All-Natural Lakeside Retreat
Discover a different kind of mountain getaway at Wabi Sabi, an architecturally unique retreat tucked among towering oak trees within The Retreat at Water’s Edge on Monteagle Mountain. Overlooking the beautiful Fiery Gizzard Reservoir, this thoughtfully designed home brings together sustainable living, modern comfort, and the natural beauty of Tennessee’s South Cumberland Plateau.
Inspired by the Japanese philosophy of finding beauty in simplicity and imperfection, Wabi Sabi was built by Aera Systems using cross-laminated southern yellow pine and carefully selected natural materials. Floor-to-ceiling glass fills the home with natural light, while warm wood interiors, cork showers, and minimalist finishes create a peaceful atmosphere unlike your traditional cabin stay.
With 4 rooms, 2 bathrooms, and accommodations for up to 8 guests, there’s room to reconnect with family, gather with friends, or simply escape the everyday.
Step onto the spacious deck to take in the surrounding forest and reservoir views, or spend your evening soaking in the wood-fired hot tub beneath the Tennessee sky.
Enjoy lake access, explore the nearby waterfalls and hiking trails, catch a concert at The Caverns, or simply stay in and embrace the slower pace of mountain living.
Wabi Sabi isn’t just a place to stay. It’s an invitation to slow down, appreciate the natural world, and experience the beauty of living simply.
