About the property

Welcome to our peaceful desert home in Searles Valley. This is a comfortable two-bedroom duplex with everything you need for a short or extended stay. The home is located on a quiet street and offers a private backyard where you can relax, enjoy the desert weather, and appreciate the peace and quiet.

The house is furnished and includes a fully equipped kitchen with dishes and basic cooking essentials. At the beginning of your stay, we also provide basic supplies such as towels, shampoo, and other everyday necessities to help you settle in comfortably.

High-speed internet is included and works very well for remote work, video calls, streaming, and other online activities.

Parking is free. There is plenty of space around and beside the house, including room for several vehicles. Please note that the garage is not available to guests because the owner’s vehicle is stored there.

The home does not have traditional central air conditioning. Instead, it has a swamp cooler (evaporative cooler), which is commonly used in the California desert and can make the house much more comfortable during hot weather. It has its own controls, and you are welcome to use it as needed. Summers in the desert can be very hot, so please keep this in mind when booking.

Winters are generally mild, and a heater is provided in the living room for colder days and nights. You are welcome to use it, but please use all heating and cooling equipment responsibly and contact the host if you have any questions.

Because utility costs in California are very high, we kindly ask guests to be mindful of their use of electricity, gas, and water. Utilities are provided for normal residential use, and we simply ask that lights, heating, cooling, and water not be left running unnecessarily.

This is a duplex, so we also ask guests to be considerate of the neighboring unit and help us maintain a peaceful environment. Please keep the home and surrounding property clean and treat the furniture, appliances, dishes, and other items with care.

There is one locked storage closet in the living room containing the owner’s personal belongings. It is not part of the guest area and should remain closed during your stay.

Trash must be taken to the designated community disposal area, which is approximately a five-minute walk from the property. Please contact the host for the exact location and instructions.

We also kindly ask guests to collect any mail or packages delivered to the property and keep them in a safe place for the host.

There are exterior security cameras around the property, but they are currently disabled. There are no cameras inside the home.

If you plan to leave the property before your scheduled checkout date, please contact the host in advance. This is especially important for longer stays so that we know the property has been safely vacated.

The host is available 24/7 by message, and we strongly encourage you to contact us directly whenever you have a question, need help with something in the house, or are unsure how to operate any equipment. It is always better to ask, and we will be happy to help.

The neighborhood is quiet and convenient. Gas stations, small restaurants, postal services, and other basic services are nearby. A school is located across the street, and a community swimming pool operates nearby during the summer.

For larger supermarkets, shopping, restaurants, and additional services, Ridgecrest is about a 15-minute drive away.

The surrounding desert is also home to many interesting destinations and outdoor attractions that bring visitors to this part of California throughout the year. Whether you are staying for work, exploring the desert, visiting nearby attractions, or simply looking for a quiet place with excellent internet, we hope you will feel comfortable here.
