    Backside 180 at Northstar sits nestled on an upscale and peaceful street, just minutes from the snowcapped slopes of Northstar Ski Resort. You can feel the warmth emanate from this home the moment you step inside. Relax in the great room with its vaulted knotty alder ceiling, designer paint colors, beautiful stone fireplace and gorgeous forested views. If you still have energy after a hard day on the slopes, have fun socializing downstairs in the great room with its vaulted ceilings. However, don't have too much fun and forget to prepare a scrumptious meal for your family in the lovely open kitchen outfitted with everything a chef needs. Finally, before you retire for the evening, warm your tired feet in the hot tub while you gaze at the canopy of trees in the backyard. This gorgeous home with its lovely surroundings and classic Tahoe setting is sure to delight everyone.

    The NPOA Recreation Center provides guests with access to three pools (lap pool open year round), two hot tubs, dry saunas, fitness facility, game/arcade room, tennis courts, summer camps and clinics, bocce ball & basketball, nature trail, kids playground, massages, swim lessons and summer activities for daily guest fee. Free shuttles operate between Northstar homes and the Village center.

    At Northstar California resort, winter offers downhill skiing & snowboarding plus a cross-country and snowshoe center. Summer offers a lift-accessed mountain bike park and golf. The Village at Northstar offers dining, entertainment, spa services, and shopping options with numerous restaurants and shops, a movie theater, ice skating/roller skating rink, and more. Please note that during the Spring and Fall seasons, when Northstar's winter and summer mountain operations are closed, the Village restaurants and retail outlets run on a modified schedule. Expect limited dining and shopping options during these periods - typically between the end of ski season through late June and after Labor Day through mid-November.

    Pets are allowed only at properties that indicate Pets Considered in the amenities tab.     County Rules
    Each county requires we inform you of the rules and regulations relevant to your home's Short Term Rental Permit. We thank you in advance for abiding by the rules below, also included in your signed in the Vacation Rental Agreement.

    Maximum Occupancy: There shall be no gatherings, events, weddings or other group functions on the Premises with more people than the number of persons stated on the Agreement.
    Parking: Parking on the street is prohibited at all times. All cars, boats, and trailers must be parked in the garage and/or driveway.

    Quiet Hours: Quiet hours are 9pm-8am, seven days a week, Noise carries easier and further in higher elevations and over water. Per the ordinance: No sound from the vacation rental home shall be audible from the parcel line during this time. Noise shall be minimized in order that it not be an unreasonable annoyance, disturbance or nuisance to neighbors.

    Lights Out: All exterior lights that are not needed for safety must be turned off between the hours of 10pm-7am, seven days a week. Per the Ordinance: All exterior lights must be turned off that are not needed for safety or other outdoor use to the extent that such other outdoor use is not an unreasonable nuisance to neighbors.

    Red Flag Warnings: Due to extreme fire danger, bonfires, charcoal barbecues and wood-burning fire pits are strictly prohibited. On Red Flag Warning Days, when fire hazards are especially dangerous, typically due to dry conditions and high winds, additional restrictions are imposed by the North Tahoe Fire Protection District and prohibited. You cannot use outdoor gas grills or gas fire pits during Red Flag Warnings. All outdoor fires are prohibited, both gas and wood. It is your responsibility to be informed of Red Flag Warnings. You will see signs on the front of all fire district stations, hear about it on the news, see it on social media and hear about it on the radio.

    Winter Driving
    Many highways, access roads and/or driveways are steep in Tahoe/Truckee and may be icy in the winter. To ensure your safety, it is critical that during November 1st - April 30th brakes, windshield wipers, defroster, heater and exhaust system are in top condition. Tires need to be properly inflated and the tread must be in excellent condition. Always carry tire chains, even if driving an AWD/4WD vehicle.     Summer Patio Furniture
    Patio furniture is available for your use during summer months only. All outdoor tables, chairs and loungers are put into storage in the fall, in order to protect the furnishings from winter weather. Barbecue grills, however, do remain outside for your enjoyment.

    Black bears are very common in this area and have become habituated to human food and garbage. Because bears no longer have a strong fear of humans, you may encounter bears during your spring, summer and fall stays. Feeding bears is illegal. Leaving food outside, trash accessible, or doors and windows unlocked is likely to cause significant property damage to homes and to vehicles. Please take a moment to learn how to be Bear Aware, so that we can continue to live in harmony with our wildlife.

    Office Holiday Hours
    The TLUXP office is closed on New Year’s Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Therefore, we are unable to accommodate check-ins and check-outs on these dates. Thank you for understanding.

Lumberjack trip

We had the best time. We love to cook and hangout. We have been visiting the area since 2014. We spend the day in Plumas National Park looking for the perfect Christmas tree.

Fun Ski Weekend

Great communication, great house. It was very comfortable for us and four 20-something kids, nice main room and well-stocked kitchen. Location is excellent - we walked across the street and skied down to the gondola each day, so convenient. Thanks for great time!

Great house, excellent location

We loved our stay at Backside 180. The kitchen was really well equipped with a 4 burner stove and griddle. I especially appreciated the elegant and sturdy flatware! No complaints whatsoever.

Perfect Halloween/ BDay Weekend!

The house offered great accommodations for my parents, sister & brother in law, and nieces and nephew. I relaxed in the main suite and enjoyed the calm rustic atmosphere. The kids bedroom heat didn’t seem to work however, the kids had a blast and stayed warm. We watched scary movies, explored outside, and played Halloween games. The house had everything we needed and more.

Snow Trip

The property company was very easy to work with and very responsive. The house was in a perfect location. Everything was easy to Navigate and the transportation NS shuttle made everything so easy! I would stay here again. The Cabin has everything you needed which made cooking fun and easy. The garbage was half full when we showed up and no one ever came to empty it but the property company took care of it for us. the craftsmanship of the house was beautiful and we would visit again.
