This house was a great base for us as we adventured into Joshua Tree each day. The pool was really nice, and the evening lighting is fantastic! We enjoyed bbqing in the back with plenty of space to hang out. The hosts were very quick to answer the questions we had.

This house has a beautiful backyard. The kitchen has what most people would need to cook most things. The beds are comfortable and there are ample towels and sheets. Check in is 5pm, which is very late. If you ask for an early check-in, it will cost you, quite a bit. When my family arrived, at 5pm, the dishwasher and dryer were running as the “detail” team made their exit. Now, that means the dishes from the last guests were there for me to put away! But, when I opened the dishwasher (at 7:30pm), not only were there dishes greeting me, they were completely caked with burnt on egg and something else all over the glasses. My husband and I spent our vacation time hand-washing the previous guests dishes. When I spoke with VRBO, I was offered either 35% of my stay in credit or 15% in cash, for a 5-star rating. Personally, that doesn’t pay for my trouble or time. The next day, when I was starting my family’s laundry, I found wet towels in the washer.

Positives and negatives

This home was a mix of luxury items and items that needed some attention. We really enjoyed the pool table and pool, but there were broken cabinet handles in the kitchen and bathroom. The floors were super clean but the backyard had random rakes and shovels on the ground along with random litter. We appreciated having some pool toys. The owners of the property were responsive and helpful when a breaker kicked off and they offered to send someone to fix the dishwasher.

Nice stay, responsive hosts

Stayed with my family including small kids as well as my parents. Home was comfortable and everyone enjoyed the stay. Location was convenient to the National Park as well restaurants in the area. We had a small issue with a blown fuse one night but the hosts immediately responded with help and we were able to get it fixed. Overall a good experience.

I scoured the property description and could not find the check in time listed anywhere. I assumed it would be like most rental accommodations: 3 or 4 PM. Turns out it’s 5 PM. Immediately after booking it I sent a message to the owner asking if I could please check in early. I offered to pay extra. I didn’t receive a response. I repeated my request a total of five times between the time I booked the house until I finally got a response, but not until about 3 PM on the day I was checking in. He stated that it would not be available for early check-in. When we got there at 5 PM, a cleaning lady was still working on the house. About 5:20 she finally finished. But there were literally puddles of water in several rooms throughout the house. At 5:45 PM there were still puddles of water throughout the house. We finally dried the floors with some towels, so we would not slip and fall.We also had problems with the master bath shower. Every single time we took a shower, the water temperature would suddenly become cold for about a three minute interval. This would usually happen about twice during each shower. We had to quickly turn the water away from us until it became warm again.Other than these problems, the house was fine.

Beautiful home

Host communicated well, house was very clean and restrooms were very clean. Plenty of space in every room and everything was in good repair. It was better than the photos as there were some improvements including a mini fridge in one room and two fridge in the kitchen that were not in the photos. Beds were comfortable. The night time experience here is great they've done a fantastic job with the ambiance and the stars at night were quite the experience. We loved our stay and would stay again. It was a total of 4 families we had here.
