“Such a neat location! Wish we could have stayed longer. It was a rushed overnight in transit between sights. The host was so kind. Appreciated the clean room and the breakfast options.”

“Stayed during owners transition, that's why the kitchen served only breakfast and it was amazing! The same helpful staff. Short business stay, I visit a lot of hotels and I do appreciate smaller ones. Room had a nice design, comfortable bed and modern bathroom, all very clean and well kept.”

“Es un hotel situado en un pueblo tranquilo en el centro del Muro de Adriano ideal para explorar Cumbria y Northumberland. Está bien comunicado por tren y autobuses. “Staff were excellent. Very nice outside area to eat in summer ! You must book in advance. (We didn't unfortunately) Meal was excellent and good breakfast the next day. Ample parking.”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, wish we could have stayed longer. The food was very good, the room was large and clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again.”

“outstanding service, unbelievable friendly personnel”

“Nice hotel at great value. We had a 1 night stay with our dog and were very comfortable.”

“Great parking. We didn’t realise when we booked that the pub would shut at 8 pm on the Sunday which was disappointing but they gave us a key to enter the building and to come and go as we wanted. The bedroom was comfortable and the breakfast was very nice.”

“The room was functional, spacious but a little tired. Staff was great, the breakfast a treat, but the restaurant wasn't worth the cost - 3 star fare at 4 star prices. Location was excellent, and parking secure. We'd go back if ever wanting to explore Hadrian's wall again.”

“Es un lugar cercano al muro de Hadriano ”

“No acepten upgrades ni elijan la habitación 4 del interior del castillo, tampoco les recomendaría que se alojarán ,ya que mi experiencia en el no resultó positiva, luego me contestarán con algúna respuesta tipo, pero les aseguro que hay muchos castillos en Inglaterra mejores que este.”

“The room and cottage were great. Very peaceful location to stay and explore the nearby area, including Penrith”

All the staff were so friendly and helpful . Special thanks to Marcelle and Jackie who couldn’t have done more ! We will definitely return”
