“We asked for aground floor as we do not do well with steps and they put us in an annex which was obviously new and was just right for us. Our fault that we didn't ask for clean towels etc. The staff are all very welcoming and the meals variable and very enjoyable.”

Impossible to get a cold sandwich after 9pm (arrived at 9:07) no other options in town except an Indian. The hotel is pet friendly which I like but for the rest not an option for me. “We entered the front and were met with a warm welcome at the bar. The place had a warm welcoming feel to it too. Once checked in we were taken to our room. The room was lovely. The bedroom was comfortable, clean and spacious. My wife and I immediately felt at home. The en-suite was also very clean and the shower was amazing. Was nice to freshen up after a long journey. There is a large car park at the rear and a lovely beer garden too. Slept well - beds were really comfy. As for breakfast - wow...

“Parking was good, right outside our room. Staff were very friendly and nice. There was a good choice for breakfast of cooked and cereal. The room was clean, did notice a couple of spiders, one small one in the bath which was easily washed down the bath and one above the wardrobe storage, which didn't cause any problems. The light in the mirror one side had dimmed. Very central to York 1/2 and hour and 1 hour from Bridlington. There is a manned bar, but on Wednesday night it wasn't open which...

“Friendly welcoming staff, varied menu and excellent food and atmosphere in the bar area. Good choice of breakfast and plenty of it. Clean and quiet room with a comfortable bed and small but adequate en-suite. We would stay again and would happily recommend it to others.”

“Beautiful country hotel, small and personal service, delightful comfortable en-suite rooms, warm inviting pool - often to ourselves, incredible top class gourmet food - formal dining and bar food served in the warm and cosy bar area or the relaxing lounge. So much choice at breakfast, all delicious, everything you could want. Can’t wait to go back in summer to enjoy the open terrace overlooking the pond. A real joy to stay here.”

“Room was immaculate . £15 per night to park car at property I found this a bit pricey but parked there anyway . If you want an early check in it’s £25 which once again is very pricey but you can park up and leave your stuff if you don’t want to pay this . If anything the bathroom is on the small side. Bed was very comfy . Would use again”

“Management didn't think about the impact of the hot weather as the room was so hot and they supplied a tiny fan that did nothing to cool the room. Lots of spots in the hotel needs updating or repairing. Both the staff and the leisure amenities were great.”
