Charming Vashon Island Cottage - Just 3 minutes from the ferry.

  • Enjoy peace and quiet at the Cottage at Useful Bear Farm. Vashon Island has lots to offer year-round: beaches, hiking, biking and bird-watching. Conveniently located near the north-end ferry and close to town where there are wonderful shops and restaurants. The cottage has full kitchen, bathroom and living/dining room on the first floor. Upstairs is a large sleeping loft with queen bed separated by a divider and a trundle bed and sleeper sofa. A portion of the proceeds from the cottage go to local housing programs.

This was a cozy, comfortable cottage and well furnished. A very quiet & private location close to town, shopping & restaurants. The owners were very friendly and we would stay here again and recommend it to others.

Excellent Stay

Everything about the stay was excellent. It's a great little place if you want some time on the island. Very clean, close to town and the north end ferry, and the beds were extremely comfortable. Absolutely recommend it.

Lovely cottage

We had a very nice stay here. Loved the fresh eggs and flowers upon arrival. The sitting room upstairs with sky lights was great in the afternoon. Slept well under the layers of quilts provided. Highly recommend this cottage.

This is a very nice well maintained little cottage. My husband and I stayed there with our two grandkids. The hosts were very nice and thoughtful. I would definitely recommend staying here.

It has a charming, cozy atmosphere and a sense of connection to the surrounding landscape. My favorite part is the motion sensor lights on the staircase.

Very nice property well-located. Only downsides were 1) bedroom / loft on 2nd floor with an awkwardly steep and narrow stairway; 2) poorly located electrical outlets in bedroom area made it a challenge to charge devices; 3) bathroom on first floor made it difficult for folks who needed to use the facilities during the night.
