Good apartment

We neling joyed staying at this apartment in the Castello Sestiere of Venice. It was apparently recently renovated and done very well and in very good taste--modern and sleek. We were met at the vaporetto stop by an employee of the namagement company, who led us through the maze of streets to the apartment. Thre was a thorough notebook that explained recycycling, etc. As to be expected, there were a few minor problems, e.g. a ceiling bulb out, a very loose toilet seat, one of the two wine classes was cracked, but problems like this are to be expected. Trash collection is interesting. There are three categories of trash, and two are collected on one day and one on the alternative day. You take the bag to a trash collection boat on a small canal, or sometimes there is a person closer with a trash collection cart. A bit puzzling at first, but in a strange way amusing. We needed assistance getting back to the vaporetto stop when we departed, since there are some bridges to climb. Marco, the owner, arranged for a porter to assist us, which worked out quite well. I found the steps leading to the apartment to be a bit steep, and I normally used the elevator. However, on our last evening the light in the elevator was flashing and the next morning, when we needed to take out luggage out, there was no light at all in the elevator. (Used celll phone for light.) I did not call Marco since this started rather late on our last evening. Not a major issue, but I was suprised that the lift did not have back-up lighting. On the whole we really enjoyed out stay at this apartment, and the few problems were negligible. Marco was very helpful.

Wir haben uns wohl gefühlt

Wir haben uns in der Wohnung wohl gefühlt. Unser Aufenthalt war leider relativ kurz und dank dem schönen Wetter waren wir immer in Venezia unterwegs und eigentlich nur zum Schlafen in der Wohnung. Auf jeden Fall können wir dieses Domizil für einen Kurzaufenthalt empfehlen.

The Apartment was as described, great location

The Apartment was as described. Enjoyed the lift and Apartment facilities. We were met by Bruno at Rialto Stop and quickly introduced to all procedures. We found great places for coffee and food.

Sehr gut

Die Wohnung ist leider nicht für vier Personen geeignet. Im 2 Bettenzimmer kein Kleiderschrank, nur eine Hängestange. Küche ist gleichzeitig Wohnzimmer mit Fernseher, aber nur ein Sofa für 2 Personen, vor dem Sofa ist kein Tisch um die Gläser abzustellen. Sehr ungemütlich, wir zwei konnten es uns noch einigermaßen gemütlich machen, aber zu viert??!! Die Dusche war verstopft, wurde erst nach 2 Tagen wieder gangbar gemacht. Es stank ziemlich in den ersten Tagen nach Fäkalien. Die Handtuchhalter waren aus der Wand gerissen worden, man hatte sich wohl beim Aussteigen aus der Dusche daran festgehalten!!! Der Toilettendeckel wackelte im Bad auch. Und der Fernseher hatte nur ein deutsches Programm, sehr schlecht!!, weil, alle Fernsehsender der Welt erhältlich waren, und für uns nur das ERSTE. Die Lage der Wohnung ist optimal, nach links ging es zur Realto Brücke und rechts zum Marcus Platz - das war ganz toll!!! Fahrstuhl im Haus, toll! Auch der Abholservice an der Realto Brücke klappte gut. Immer wieder gerne kommen wir in die Wohnung, allerdings, hatten wir Glück, am Montag unserer Abreise begannen die Handwerker im Nachbarhaus zu arbeiten.

Scenery

With the sun and the warm welcome of the owner ( who moved to lead us to our accommodation ) we started our stay. After visiting the apartment, modern and clean, and the advice of our host, we could admire Venice and forth . Perfectly located (center of Venice for tourist attractions , grocers nearby), the appartemet also allowed us to rest between each trip to discover Venice. We can only recommend such housing in such a city ! Patricia et Christian.

Nicely renovated and very convenient

My daughter and I rented Apt 3 in the end of May 2015. It was exactly as depicted on the VRBO site - very nicely renovated inside in the hallways as well as the apartment itself (even though it is in a old building). It is surprisingly bright in the apartment even though there is no real view - all the windows look toward the walls of other buildings, but since it's the 3rd floor, lots of light comes in. There is a very useful (and unusual for Venice) lift to the 3rd floor. The beds were very comfortable and the Wifi and air conditioner worked very well (although since there is no AC vent in the bedroom, you must keep the bedroom door open throughout the night open if you want to keep cool air coming into the bedroom). The main bathroom was spacious and modern with an excellent shower. It was nice having the extra half bath in the small bedroom. The living room/kitchen is just one relatively small room with a couch in the kitchen - so there is no separate living area apart from the kitchen. This however was fine for us, as we were out of the apartment most of each day. The kitchen appliances were relatively new and perfectly fine for making small meals. When the stove had a problem one night, Marco had it fixed quickly. This apartment is perfect for a couple with one or two kids, but not really for a group much larger than that. For two couples, one will have a large master bedroom and the other a much smaller bedroom with a twin bed and a futon bed. The location is ideal - it really is about 2 minutes walk to Ponte Rialto and about 10 minutes to San Marco (provided you don't get too lost, which everyone inevitably does at some point.) There are a two fine Coop supermarkets near the apartment, and plenty of restaurants, gelaterie and shops on the neighboring streets.

Très bien placé, pratique et bien entretenu

Très agréable appartement Type 3 parfaitement placé à 2' du Rialto et son débarquadaire ( Vaporetto ligne 2 ) . Super accueil par Bruno avec de bons conseils pour le séjour. 2 chambres agréables et plutôt calmes compte-tenu de l'hyper centralité ( Eglise San Lio ) avec supermarché et tous commerces en pied d'immeuble dont un gelatéria d'enfer ! Ascenseur petit mais très pratique. Equipement satisfaisant. Déco agréable et mobilier fonctionnel, de bon goût. 1 salle d'eau WC + 1 WC avec lavabo dans la chambre des enfants. Literie satisfaisante. Linge de bains en nombre et qualité satsifaisants aussi. On a apprécié l'état gérénal très propre, le ménage de départ inclus, la remise de clef et la restitution de caution sans soucis. RDV à l'heure ce qui est appréciable. N'hésitez pas à appeler le loueur au Tel dès que vous arrivez sur Venise pour qu'il vous accueille au débarcadaire Rialto et vous guide à l'appartement à pieds en 2' valises en mains. On apprécie enfin et surtout sa centralité car on a pu aller à pieds partout avec les enfants, du jardin de la biennale après l'Arsenal, à la fondation Pinault ou au Guggenheim du côté de la pointe de la douane, comme au Palazzio Grazzi. La Place San Marco est à moins de 10' à pieds. Nous n'avons même pas eu à emprunter de vaporetto pendant nos 4 jours et pourtant avons visité tous les quartiers hors îles et Lido. C'est le gros plus de l'emplacement central, permettant de rentrer entre 2 ballades. Nous reviendrons avec plaisir à Venise pour une prochaine Biennale et n'hésiterons pas à revenir dans l'un des appartements de cet immeubles ( Il y en a 3 ou 4 à priori ). Le notre était au 3ème et avant dernier étage. On recommande sans retenue. Couple français avec 2 enfants de 7 et 10 ans

fantastic central venice location

It would be hard to find a more central location - 2 mins from rialto, 5 from st marco. Had everything we needed. We were 4 adults one baby and a small kid. They kindly set up a cot for us. A rare highlight is having the roof top terrace (altana) with a unique view over the roofs of venice that you just dont get elsewhere. Perfect spot for breakfast and later, spritz.

Value for money

We stayed in Apartment 3. Spacious and comfortable apartment. It is Lift access so that we don't have to carry our heavy luggage going up stairs.well equip kitchen and also a washing machine. Located in between Rialto bridge and St. Marco square, very convenient location. Pictures show here are exactly the same as the real apartment. Highly recommended,

Highly Recommended

The apartment is in an ideal location within walking distance to all of the sights. The apartment was equiped with everything we needed and wanted for us and our two young children. The apartment was furnished with a high chair, cot and plastic cutlery. The property was clean and well-maintained and the owner and staff provided excellent customer service. We would definitely recommend this property to travellers with young children and even older children.

Great experience

We had a fabulous stay in Venice! Marco was very helpful, coming to meet us at the ferry stop and giving us helpful tips about what to see and do and even booking a restaurant for us! The apartment was brand new, spotlessly clean, comfortable and well equipped. Also it has an elevator which is a big (unusual) plus in Venice! We were traveling with a baby and I was impressed that Marco had taken the time to provide a change mat, a crib, a high chair and plastic cutlery. A very thoughtful touch! He went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. The location is excellent: 2 min from Rialto bridge, 1 min from Susa (the excellent ice cream store nearby!) and under 10 min to San Marco square. Our stay was magical. I would highly recommend this place.

Red House

We spent a very enjoyable week in this appartment. The property had been recently refurbished, I think. It was well-appointed and well-equipped and had been thoroughly cleaned. The owner provided a travel cot for our young child and kindly also lent some toys. The property was perfectly suitable for a toddler. There were good cooking / kitchen facilities, which was important to us as we ate in most of the time (because of our child). We found Marco Malafante to be very charming and organised, and not at all obtrusive. He met us at the Grand Canal and helped us with baggage to the property. He provided all the assistance that we could ask for but otherwise left us to ourselves. The property is well located in the heart of Venice. We would certainly recommend this property to friends.
