Cortijo la Solana is the perfect place to get away from the crowds and find some peace and relaxation. Here you can be in a safe and secure environment in the heart of rural Andalucía, Southern Spain. Family and pet friendly ,the property is a typical Andalusian, turn of the century stone-built farmhouse, tastefully converted by the owners David and Diana in 2005, who in a "previous life" ran a very successful ceramics business - CRICH POTTERY, back in England. They are now turning their hands at being part-time farmers, looking after a small herd of Alpacas, donkeys and other four-legged friends ( David ) whilst also growing their own organic veg ( Diana ).The accommodation comprises , a main house ( Cortijo ) with 3 double bedrooms all with en suite bathrooms, a large living/dining area , open log fireplace and kitchen with all normal facilities including washing machine. It will sleep up to 6 persons. There is TV plus DVD and free Wi-Fi internet access. Outside consists of a large, private, patio area with lots of outdoor seating, BBQ etc and private swimming pool (7x 4 m). For the winter months the house is provided with use of the log fire plus electric heaters. David and Diana invite you to come and stay with them on their small farm, where they have created , in this privileged environment, what they feel to be an ideal rural retreat. With stunning views to the Mediterranean coast and the surrounding sierras, this is the perfect location for anyone wishing to experience the real Spain. Enjoy the many wonderful animals we have here - alpacas, donkeys, cats and dogs. You may not want to venture out but if you do there are numerous opportunities in the area for all kinds of outdoor activities such as cycling - both mountain bike & road, walking, rock climbing, horse riding and bird watching. The ancient town of Antequera is only 25 min drive away, plus you are ideally situated to make day trips to the historical cities of Granada (1.5 h drive), Cordoba (2 h), Seville (2.5 h). Plenty to do and see, with the city of Malaga and all the attractions of the Costa del Sol only a short drive away (40 min) should you wish for it.
