Heavenly location, perfect property

Lovely property set in peaceful rural location. Jean and Françoise were very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed and more, way beyond our expectations. We especially enjoyed giving the horse and donkey bread and carrots. Very enjoyable and relaxing week away from it all.

Calme, grands espaces verdoyants (moi de mai), chants d'oiseaux (pas aboiement de chiens) et rencontres fortuites avec lièvres, faisans,...c'est tout ce que nous recherchions. Les propriétaires sont très accueillants et le gîte a tout l'équipement nécessaire.

Voyage en Vendomois !

Nous avons passé une excellente semaine ! La maison est calme et permet le repos. Elle est située en plein cœur du Vendomois que nous avons un peu découvert, mais pas totalement ..il va nous falloir revenir ! Nous avons également pu profiter du Mans, Tours, Futuroscope, château de la Loire. Nous ne devons pas oublier nos formidables hôtes : Françoise et Jean. Que de belles personnes, qui s’inquiètent toujours de votre bien être, merci à vous ! Et à très vite de vous revoir dans ce si beau Vendomois.

Just stunning

We went here as a group of 3 people and had a wonderful stay! Francoise and Jean are wonderful people, very open and welcoming. The farm is located in the middle of beautiful, spacious fields and is just brimming with life. So many birds, Igor the (very sweet) horse, deer, foxes, small lizards, a farm cat paying a visit from time to time.. definitely recommend this for anyone who is looking to get away from busy city life for a while; you'll feel like a new person after spending a week here. Francoise and Jean, thank you again and see you next year!

Superbe location

De l'accueil et la gentillesse des propriétaires aux moindres détails pratiques, tout est parfait. Vous avez oubliez le lait ? pas de souci, il suffit d'ouvrir le placard. Les chambres sont royales : lit kingzize avec salle d'eau et toilettes. Le tout au milieu de la campagne avec les oiseaux pour compagnie. Beaucoup de charme, même sous la pluie !

Verblijf september 2019

Wij hebben hier een heerlijke tijd gehad. Francoise en Jean zijn zeer gastvrij en alles was mogelijk. De dag na aankomst stond Igor het paard bij het huis. Onze kinderen (en wij ook) vonden dat geweldig en gingen elke dag wel een paar keer kijken. Hij vond de aandacht en de appels en wortels heerlijk. De woning bevind zich alleen op de bovenverdieping wat voor ons met twee hele kleine kinderen soms wat onhandig was. Vanuit de woning was namelijk weinig zicht op de kinderen als als ze buiten waren. Het huis was verder goed verzorgd en ook voor de kinderen was er voldoende speelgoed. Onze zoon heeft heerlijk op de loopfiets rond het huis gereden. Er is in de omgeving ook genoeg te doen. Vanuit het huis kan je goed wandelen. In tegenstelling tot hetgeen wordt aangeven is er geen WiFi. Wat ook wel heel ontspannend is maar voor de kinderen toch een gemis als ze even een filmpje willen kijken. Als je tot rust wilt komen is dit echt de perfecte locatie. Let wel op je hoofd want de balken zitten vrij laag😁 Groeten, Robert, Bea, Bram en Lisa Groetjes

Beautiful countryside location

Located in the beautiful French countryside, this 3 bedroom (all with en-suite facilities) detached house is ideal for exploring the Loire valley. Francoise and Jean are excellent hosts, even bringing us tomatoes and plums from their garden. Whilst the house is finished to a very high standard, the open plan kitchen dining area is the only seating available and the property would be improved with a separate lounge area.

Wonderful holiday!

A lovely property in beautiful surroundings. Could not have asked for more! Property owned by a lovely friendly couple who were very helpful, and organised bicycles for the children. The children loved feeding and grooming Igor the horse. Thank you for a wonderful holiday!

Très beau séjour

Très bel endroit pour un séjour dépaysant. Très très calme. Des propriétaires charmants et à l'écoute. Igor le cheval est un voisin bien sympathique ! Il adore les carottes et le pain sec ! Dommage que la météo ne nous ait pas permis de profiter pleinement de l'extérieur.

Fantastische plek voor rustzoekers

Prachtige locatie en een mooi huis. Alles was schoon en netjes! We hebben genoten van de rust en het uitzicht van het vakantiehuis. De reeën lopen vlak langs het huis! Maar vooral de verhuurders (Françoise en Jean) waren superaardig en lief! Niets is teveel voor ze! Ze nemen alle tijd voor je en ze geven veel tips over wat je kan doen in de omgeving. Kortom.....een onvergetelijke vakantie!!

Très bon week-end à la haute Forêt, dans un cadre merveilleux, calme et reposant avec des propriétaires comme il en existe peu (sens de l'accueil, du contact, du bien-être de leurs hôtes en toute simplicité) ! un gîte agréablement aménagé, beau et pratique avec la literie au top ! TROP !

"Trop bien !" ont dit les petites filles, "Trop cool !" ont dit les grands-parents toujours débordés l Le temps s'est arrêté un week-end pour se poser, respirer, prendre le temps. La maison est vraiment conçue pour y être bien; et on ne gêne pas les voisins avec les cris et les rires des enfants qui jouent. On garde l'adresse !

Beautiful, peaceful and luxurious

An lovely week of peace in a beautiful home. If you want to get away from if all this is perfect. The kids were able to forget their phones and get back to enjoying the outdoors. Bbqs every night looking out over the farmland and gentle jogs, walks and cycle rides made for a relaxing time. Our hosts were simply superb and even went way beyond in arranging bike hire for us in a local village. Would recommend whole heartedly, a real find!

Lovely Accommodation in a Peaceful and Relaxing Location

We spent a very enjoyable and relaxing 2 nights at this beautifully renovated property in Villedieu-le-Chateau. Surrounded by fields, the house was wonderfully quiet, with no traffic noise and fantastically dark night skies. The children loved the freedom and space, especially stroking and feeding ends of baguette to the donkey and horse in the field opposite the house, (visible from their bedroom window). Wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy more walks, cycles and blackberry picking, (cueillette de mûre)! Jean and Francoise were very welcoming hosts, thank you very much for the delicious confiture de prunes! Hope to return some time.

A wonderful property that has been converted to a really high standard

Just returned from a superb holiday in France. Peaceful and beautiful. Lots to see in the area if you wish to do so. Le Mans was a treat, and the trip on the tourist railway is not to be missed. The hospitality of the ownners was first class. We will definately come again.

Perfect family countryside retreat

Our family enjoyed a wonderful stay at le Petit Haut Foret. The house is beautifully renovated and furnished and surrounded by peaceful fields and abundant wildlife. Meeting wild deer became a daily event. Jean and Francoise have put lots of love and attention into the property and extended the same to our stay, with friendly advice and help throughout. If you are looking for a calm and beautiful place to stay, then this is perfect. The owners fully accommodated our two children, including a young toddler. The house is close to several small towns with lots of opportunities to try out the local wine. And there's a convenient Supermarket within 10 minutes drive. We wouldn't hesitate to return for another stay. The photos don't do justice to how lovely this place is.

A great stay

A comfortable converted barn with farmland all around. Jean and Françoise were a delight to have as the property owners. We felt like a part of their family. The barn with post and beam construction, ample room for four adults, and green and yellow pastures around you made you feel a part of it all. The lower part of the barn was being converted into more living space. We had to say goodbye personally. They invited us to meet their son and view their home. They asked us if we wanted to share some wine. Unfortunately the road was calling for our drive to Paris. We all would love to return

un petit joyau en toute simplicité !

Nous avons trouvé un gîte formidable à Villedieu chez Françoise et Jean, authentique avec tout le confort possible. Leur accueil a été parfait et nous nous sommes tout de suite senti "chez nous". Tout est prévu pour que nous passions un excellent séjour et si nous devons revenir dans le coin nous reviendrons certainement à cette adresse!! bravo!
