Mele Nani Getaway in lovely Volcano, Hawaii

  • Mele Nani in Volcano, Hawaii is our sweet two bedroom, one full bathroom vacation home. Our favorite spot is the hanging lounger on the covered, front lanai. Gently rock to the bird song all around while sipping your morning coffee. We offer a small wood burning fireplace for chilly evenings. The living room has a comfy sofa, chair, flat screen TV for streaming your favorite channels and free WiFi. Our custom kitchen is full of appliances, cookware and dishes for cooking local produce til your heart's content. The full bathroom has a bathtub and shower combo that we stock with a starter supply of soaps, detergents, and paper products for our guests.

    Please note: Some mapping software shows the correct location but indicates that the address is in Kailua-Kona. IT IS NOT. The house is in Volcano near the National Park entrance.

    Located in the Ohia Estates neighborhood, Mele Nani, is less than a 10 minute drive to the famed Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and about a 40 minute drive into Hilo. We provide local recommendations (Things To Do and Restaurants!) in a binder located in the home. Volcano Village has a few wonderful restaurants and fantastic galleries. Within an hour's drive you can experience dashing waterfalls, craggy hikes around dormant volcanoes, daring ocean cliff outlooks, vibrant cultural shops and restaurants, and most of the world's varied climate zones. We recommend staying at least a week and packing light layers and sturdy shoes to get the full 'Big Island' adventure. E komo mai (welcome)!

    What to Bring: Volcano can be chilly at night and when it rains so pack a few long layers and sturdy hiking shoes to maximize your enjoyment of our location! We stock fire wood and a starter supply of essentials like toilet paper, paper towels, detergent and soaps. While we do not stock shampoo, sunscreen, or bug repellant there may be some left by previous guests that you're welcome to use.

We really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are as pictured and were very clean upon our arrival. Our communication with the host was smooth. It is ideal for a family and we enjoyed the outdoor lanai. Its proximity to Volcano National Park is very convenient. We plan tocome and stay again.

beautiful secluded house, it was so peaceful and quiet. house is extremely clean and well set up for short term rental. the welcome book was very detailed and made getting know the house very easy.very close to the national park, we were lucky enough to see the volcano erupt during our stay. would be glad to stay there again

We very much enjoyed this stay. Great location for visiting Volcanoes National Park. The property is very well maintained and equipped.Two suggestions:Bathtub is very slippery when showering, a mat in the tub would be beneficial. As the washer and dryer are in an attached shed tha can only be accessed from outside of the house, a laundry basket would be very helpful.

Volcano Relaxing House

Great place to stay. Very close to Volcano National Park. You’re in the rain forest so it’s cooler and misty at times but beautiful plants surrounding the house. Porch area is nice addition. Very clean, check-in super easy, wi-fi great, kitchen very well stocked. Communication was exceptional especially since our arrival coincided with the tsunami warning. Super quiet area.

Great location

This property is perfect if you’re visiting volcano national park. We were able to get into the park in a few minutes once the volcano started erupting with zero wait. By the time we left there were cars lined up down the highway. The house itself is peaceful and very relaxing. We would definitely stay here again.

Location is perfect

Great location for visiting Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. We were able to beat the crowds traveling from other places on the island and go back in the evening after most visitors had left. Enjoyed the town of Volcano’s farmers market as well.
