This place was idyllic. All of the furniture was very comfortable especially the beds. The home owners take pride in keeping the home in excellent condition including dehumidifiers and moisture absorbing stones throughout the space. It is a small action that keeps the house smelling fresh which is an issue I have experienced in other rentals.We grately appreciated the amenities that were stocked such as shampoo and conditioner as well as food staples like cooking oil and soy sauce to peanut butter and smores fixings :)The grounds are beautiful with thick vegetation that creates a wonderful feeling of privacy. Tropical rainforest sights and sounds greeted us each moment. The owners responded promptly to all communications. We look forward to visiting again one day.

We loved this hale in the rainforest. It was a great base for a group of 5 adults to access Hawai’i Volcanoes NP and explore the east side of the island. We made use of the hot tub nightly and were lulled to sleep each night by the coqui. Highly recommend!

The place was clean and well kept. Beds were comfortable. Hot tub was close and convenient. We used the hot tub daily. Very close to Volcano National Park. Full kitchen (there are few dining options nearby). Secluded and off a gravel road. The towels had an off smell.

Perfect Big Island Escape

This rainforest retreat was exactly that. We felt like we were transported to another world in this beautiful rainforest. We loved hanging out under the pavilion by the fire and in the lovely, Hawaii home. The owners even let us check in a little early and provided s'mores to cook over the fire.

We had a wonderful stay at the property for our visit to Volcanoes Nationals Park. The location was perfect for visiting the national park and provided a very comfortable stay for my family of 6 adults. The property was exactly as advertised. We visited the national park during the day. We made smores at the outside fireplace and played board games at night. We enjoyed the hot tub on a rainy day and used the laundry to refresh our clothes for our 2 weeks stay in Hawaii (visiting 3 islands). The communication with the hosts was superior- they answered questions in advance, sent directions on the best road to enter the property and communicated all important details, and also had a book with information at the property. I highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to visit the National Park. My only caution to others is to not run in the neighborhood. We are a big family of runners and there are security dogs at many of the other properties. One such dog came out of the fence and followed my son and daughter in law on a run. This has nothing to do with the property but just mentioning for others to run at the national park and not in the neighborhood based on discussion and additional information about the dogs with a local.

Amazing weekend getaway

Amazing accommodation and excellent hosts! Had everything we needed to feel comfortable for our family (crib and high chair for our 1 year old daughter) and close to all the attractions. The hot tub and outdoor fireplace were a nice touch in the chilly evenings. Thanks for the wonderful stay and accommodating the early check-in and late check-out!

Great location for a volcano visit

The house is very cute and close to Volcano National park. We didn't have that much extra time, otherwise would have loved to enjoy the outdoor fire pit and hot tub while listening to the sounds of the jungle.

Perfect Volcano Getaway!

What a beautiful tropical property, hidden in a perfect location to visit Volcano National Park! We enjoyed our short visit immensely and found everything to be comfortable, convenient and most welcoming. We stopped at the Hilo Market and grocery store and stocked up for breakfasts and found the kitchen to be very well stocked. Communication with the owners was excellent- what more can you ask for?!

Truly the perfect jungle getaway

We stayed here for five nights on our honeymoon. It is only about fifteen minutes from Volcano National Park, and the property itself has many great amenities. We found it clean, beautiful, and private without being too isolated (it's only a couple minutes from the highway). Caleb and Christyn were great hosts --kind, communicative, and thoughtful. I highly recommend this Rainforest Retreat, and hope to return someday!

Gorgeous!

Loved this place! My son calls it the “jungle house” and it’s indeed a good place to be in nature! So peaceful, worth the drive for sure. Beds were comfortable, clean, and the hosts were quick to respond with any questions. We would absolutely come back!

Great location!! Volcano was erupting when we were here. Ice maker was not working so had to buy our own ice. Could have used a few more towels for kitchen. Otherwise had a great stay.

Just Perfect

Exceeded expectations! More beautiful than the pictures. Shocked by how well stocked the home was. Perfect location for visiting the park and the hot tub was the cherry on top after a long day of hiking.

Had a great time in Volcano, we loved the area and the distance to Hilo was definitely doable. The house was very comfortable and the outdoor spaces great. Felt very safe and secure with neighbors and gated entrance. Bonus……. Eruption at Volcano National Park. Spectacular!

Great Rainforest House

The house is really nice, clean and updated and only 5 minutes to Volcano national park. You do have to drive through a dirt road to get to the house. The host is very responsive via text. Unfortunately our stay was cut short by the hurricane due to power outage. Host was very nice and refunded us one night of stay so we can move to a hotel.

Wonderful quiet home in Volcano

We loved this peaceful and quiet home in Volcano. Close to the National Park and surrounded by natural beauty and nature. We made plenty use of the hot tub too. Modern kitchen, comfortable beds and all the amenities we needed. We just found our new vacation rental home in Volcano! :)

Wonderful House in the Rainforest

We had a great stay. The wood stove was great on a rainy Volcano day. The hot tub was also wonderful. The kitchen is well stocked and all three bedrooms were comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again the next time we are in Volcano.

Nice home in a mountain setting

The home was clean & nicely updated. We were surprised it was a rustic setting up in the mountain vs in a neighborhood. Also much cooler & wetter than expected but very nice and a different experience than what we are used to in Hawaii, we just embraced it and enjoyed Hawaii in a different way. Not for those who are expecting a sunny, beach experience.
