Omgoodness!! First of all, my family and I had never been to Panama so this was a new adventure for us. Our host, Pilar answered all my questions promptly and Alex, her husband was there to meet us at the house when we arrived. We were blown away with the roomy space of this two story house. It was all that was described on the VRBO site and much more. It is a country house with mango and coconut trees…and swimming pool but the interior is so spacious for our family of 7 with a bed for everyone. The rooms were very creatively decorated showing the host’s personality with items collected from their travels. There was a large breezy covered area upstairs with a bar, pool and fooz ball tables, and frig where we spent many evenings hanging out playing music and games. Amazing. The house is in a gated community in Chame about 15 minutes from Coronado area. There is also a large infinity pool in the complex… which was a treat for the family. During our stay we enjoyed the local restaurants and beaches along with snorkeling, waterfalls, tubing . However, we were always happy to return to ‘our’ home because that’s exactly what it felt like…home. Pilar and Alex were perfect hosts and were with us every step of the way answering every question and offering suggestions as we traveled around. We always felt safe. With little to no Spanish, we felt comfortable communicating because the Panamanian people seemed to appreciate our efforts and we appreciated their patience with us.
