Quaint Ocean Front on Miles of Sandy Beach! Dog Friendly!

  • Write your story at Once Upon a Tide. Located between Yachats and Waldport, this home sits on one of the most desirable beaches on the Central Coast. Once Upon a Tide is blissfully away from summer crowds in town but still just a short drive to all the wonderful sights and activities in the area.

    Soft hues and a thoughtful layout assure you a relaxing stay at the beach. This sweet home sleeps up to 6 guests in 2 bedrooms / 1 bath and a den. The yard is large with direct beach access to the sand and a wonderful hot tub to enjoy under the stars.

    Sleeps 6: 2 Kings, (one can be split into two Twins with advance notice), 1 Queen sofa sleeper. 1 Bath.
    Vehicles: Licensed for 3 (strictly enforced)
    Winter: 2 night minimum; Standard & Holidays: 3-4 night minimum
    *Each home is individually owned. Amenities and furnishings are subject to change at any time. Please contact our office with any questions.

    Age Requirement: The primary registered guest must be at least 26 years of age. The majority of guests must be over 25, or children under adult supervision.

Just what we needed

Location is great. Between Yachats and Waldport. On the beach as described. Back yard great for a dog. Two king beds or splits/twin.

Really nice getaway

It’s a nice little house with an excellent location. Comfortably furnished and bright, the house has super convenient access to the beach, which is flat and excellent for people and dogs. The location was in a quiet neighborhood but convenient to several coastal towns and restaurants. Will stay again.

Cute cottage on a beautiful stretch of beach

Cute home, well stocked kitchen, and happy coastal-themed decor! Hot tub with a view of the ocean, large tables for family game night, and large yard for the pups to romp around. Private access to a gorgeous stretch of beach. We will definitely be back!

A Dream Spot for Families

Cozy home, just perfect for young families. The beach is incredible and the house is just like home. One of our favourite places that we just keep returning to, making new memories each time. We love it and know you will too!

We loved the house and the location. The house is very well cared for and very clean and well-stocked. It was perfect for our family. My only concern is the late check in time - wish we could have more time in the house that first day.

Great Stay

We had a great time at Once Upon a Tide. Was the perfect getaway for our family. The access down to the beach looks more dicey than it actually is. While the lower rail could use fixing as the post was broken at some point, We navigated it easily with a 13 month old in our arms, but there is a public stairway just 1 house away. Hot tub was great. I would consider opening it up to burn off a little of the chlorine in the daylight before getting in, but it was a great spot to relax after longer days out and about. All in all, it was a great stay and I would recommend.

Very nice updated beach cottage. Well equipped. Great ocean views! The access to beach could be worked on but there is a nice access a block from house. Some chairs on the back patio would have been nice but other than that it was perfect for our little thanksgiving gathering.

Perfect getaway

We love Waldport and this house was perfect! Location could not be better, and the house was adorable, clean, and had everything we needed. Note: we could easily navigate the rocks down to the beach, but our dog could not. There were steps to the beach one house down, which was perfect!

Family trip

It was super fun and such a great space! Perfect for the 4 of us. Kids had a blast on the beach and playing all the board games. House was clean and had all the things we needed! Would definitely rent again. The kitchen could use a couple baking sheets and a sharper knife but otherwise it was well stocked!

Great stay

This location cannot be beat! The beach is essentially in your backyard. We spent a lot of time in the “backyard.” One of our dogs spent a lot of time roaming solo without regard to the rest of our wishes, so you may want to pay attention to naughty dogs who prefer to explore the beach without regard to rules. I highly recommend this charming rental!

Family friendly!

We just spent the weekend here for our Daughters 17th birthday, she brought her best friend so having a separate king bedroom was great for them to hide away in. The house also has a pull out Queen sofa on the opposite side from the main bedroom that was awesome for our younger daughter and her friend to feel like they had their own space and could be loud and not wake us adults up. The house was equipped with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Would definitely go back.

Family Vacation

Although the house was setup a little different than what I would imagine from the pictures, (video tour of the house would be awesome), it wouldn't have kept me from staying there, just wasn't what I expected when I walked in the door, little smaller than I expected. Overall, a great place to stay. The steps down to the beach and the handrail are a bit sketchy. Would not recommend children under 10ish or elderly adults to try to go down to the beach that way (not sure if there is another way down or not).

Amazing and private location on Oregon Coast

Charming home located on a private and secluded stretch of beach. House has direct beach access though the steps down are a bit difficult (just a stack of rocks). The house has 2 spacious bedrooms, washer and dryer, a separate den/sofa bed with table and chairs (in addition to the eating area in the main living room). The backyard and covered porch are lovely, but only 1 chair was provided-suggest bringing your own. The hot tub was clean and had a lovely ocean view. Would recommend!
