Disappointing one night stay at Mercure

Very disappointing stay at this centrally-located hotel. In standard rooms, the walls are extremely thin and you can hear everything going on next door. I felt my stay did not represent value for money. The room was very basic, one table lamp didn't work properly - vital in a room where there were very few lights. It's a shame as the location was fantastic - a great base to explore, or do business in, Warsaw. Reception staff were helpful and friendly. Overall, OK for a night but any longer would upset.

Decent for the price

As always, the staff was very accomodating but the hotel is getting a bit aged. One bed had an exposed mattress spring, and the heating system did not appear to work. However, the location was fantastic and it was a very good price.

Good Location, Reasonable Price

Pretty good lodging option in Warsaw's city center. Approximately a 10-15 minute walk due north from the central train station, and about a 15-20 minute walk into the heart of Old Town. Room was decent, but there was something wrong with the pipes - the water in the sink had alternating smells of sulfur or burning hair throughout the entire duration of our stay, which was pretty gross. Staff at the front desk was helpful, but wifi access was spotty. Although we received a 2 hour wifi card for free, the connection kept getting interrupted and the card seemingly ran out far earlier than it should have. Overall, I'd stay here again - the chief complaint was the internet access issue, which was strange, for a legitimate hotel chain in Warsaw with so many business travelers.

Everything you need.

Hotel does nothing spectacular or unusual, but what it does is well executed. Great buffet breakfast, with the best hotel breakfast coffee I've experienced in a while. Staff are very friendly and polite. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, curtains and windows ensured a quiet night's sleep without traffic noise or light getting in. Simple stuff, but so many hotels manage to get these things wrong.

nothing special

The hotel is kind of OK, and I did not overpay because I was warned to buy well ahead. This year (2011) Polish hotels charge you like hell as there is a general impression that they can with Poland holding the European presidency..(confirmed by fellow conference participants for this very hotel) My chief reason to dislike the hotel is that I got a smoking room despite explicitly booking a non-smoking one. I arrived very late and came for two nights only so I did not bother to ask them for non-smoking, still it hampered my short stay. The room smelled like my right index finger after 17 years of smoking rolled cigarettes.. I had inclusive internet but they gave me only a 24h card, so I had to use my roaming the second night. The staff are OK, but not very friendly or even diplomatic, especially not in English. To sum it up, it is one of the big relatively posh hotels close to Warsaw city center, and I would have no reason to stay there if it was not the venue of my conference.

Et hotel som jeg varmt kan anbefale til andre . Godt beliggende, fin betjening ved indtjekning, god god morgenbuffe,og restaurant, forholdsvis tæt på flere seværdigheder. Alt i alt en god oplevel se.

Good hotel in a prime location

I thought that this hotel was in a pretty good location. It was down the street from the mall and there were quite a few restaurants in the area. It was like a 20-30 minute walk to Old Town and Nowy Swiat. I thought that the room was pretty nice. The only thing that I had issues with was that they didn't give clean cups after it has been obviously used. They did eventually but I thought it was odd that it wasn't done on day after I used it when they came in for house cleaning. I think that was the only complaint I had. It was a very nice hotel other than that.

The hotel gave me a 2-hour voucher for free wi fi in the room, but it was disconnected after 30 minutes. Got another card that worked OK in the bar area, but was disconnected immediately after I got back to the room.

Great Hotel: All New, Not Much Old

The Mercure Hotel was great! Central location in downtown Warsawa and close to the big mall, as well as the main train, bus and metro stations. The old town is a bit of a walk from there, but it takes about 20-30 minutes and there is plenty to see along the way. There is a nice little touch on each floor, with a shoe shine machine ready to use just outside of the elevator, which was nice. The bar is expensive compared to most bars and restos in the city, so do your drinking or eating elsewhere. Besides that, the hotel was very easy to check in and out of, the service was great and we got what we paid for, which was a nice hotel at a reasonable rate. ENJOY!

I was very satisfied with this hotel. It was perfectly situated for my purpose and reason for being in Warsaw. The staff was friendly but not intrusive or pushy. My room was quiet, clean and comfortable.

Comfortable hotel with excellent service

This is the second time in a month that I have stayed at the Mercure Warszawa Fryderyk Chopin. The staff on reception were excellent both times and were very helpful. I had a problem coming into the city from the airport and they went above and beyond their duties to help me, for which I was very grateful. I have always found the room cleanliness of a high standard. The furnishings are more than adequate and modern. My only complaint would be the pillows - they were very lumpy but I managed to find some spare not-so-lumpy-pillows in the cupboard. The location is good - it is in the business district, rather than the old town. It is about a 20 minute walk to the old town, which I didn't mind at all. Overall, it was another very pleasant stay and I will definitely stay there again as it is very good value for money.

Hotel Mercury Warszawa POLECAM !!!!

Hotel bardzo przyjazny, czysty, bardzo chętnie się przebywało w każdym jego miejscu, obsługa bez zarzutu: miła, uśmiechnięta, pełna energii, wyrozumiała i bardzo pomocna w każdej sytuacji :-) Rewelacyjna lokalizacja, samo centrum - nie znalazłam ani jednego minusa :-)) POLECAM !!!!
