My group and I truly enjoyed our stay at the hearth while we were in town for Warped Tour. The host was communicative and so kind, and the property was immaculately kept, very comfortable and honestly, much bigger than the pictures made it appear. We would definitely stay here again.

Great home base to explore the DC area for our family of four. About a 10 minute walk to the nearest Metro, then about 5-10 minutes Metro ride to the National Mall area. The house was really clean and became comfortable immediately. It is nicely updated. Great front porch.

This place was amazing! The decor was unique and so pretty, it was in a great little spot in the neighborhood, quick to get to the train station, etc. Loved having my own parking spot. Plenty of room for the family to spread out and enjoy ourselves. Everything was clean and well maintained. We locked ourselves out once and the communication was quick, helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend this as a great place to stay.

This condo was beautiful with all the latest updates. I traveled with 4 other adults and 1 child age 10 and we all had pleanty of room. Lots of extra towels, sheets and blankets. Coffee and bottled water available as well. Everything was clean and comfortable. I had to reach out to our host and she answered quickly and was so sweet and helpful. Highly recommend this property and host!

Location is walkable to some restaurants in the downtown area. There are 3 bedrooms upstairs with a bathroom in the master and shared hallway bath room for the other 2 rooms. This is an older building that has been nicely renovated. The floors do creak and there are folks living downstairs. Upstairs can get hot so you have to turn the AC down before sleeping. There is space for parking one car and additional street parking. Kitchen was fully equipped. Host was very responsive.

Family stay in the city

We enjoyed our stay while visiting DC for the week. Great communication, quick responses whenever there was a question/concern. Loved being able to walk to Big Bear Cafe for breakfast

Beautiful home away from home

This lovely home was perfect for our DC getaway. The beds were comfortable and the home cozy. The home is updated beautifully. The location is nice and makes it easy to explore the city. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Family trip to Washington

House was great and within 10-15 min drive of everything. Quiet neighborhood and house was very accommodating for our family of 5.

Great Spot in DC

We enjoyed our stay at The Hearth. It’s a great house with modern furnishings, a great kitchen, and super nice bathrooms. There is parking on premises or on street in you have larger than a midsize suv. The owner was responsive and helpful. We would absolutely stay there again if back in DC!

Exceptional stay

Our family visited DC in early December and thoroughly enjoyed The Hearth. The place was super clean, well stocked, and the decor was even prettier than the pictures indicate. Communication with our host great. She was responsive to our questions. The location was good for us as we were visiting all the major museums and monuments in town.

House with character

Really nice redone brownstone type house, perfect for our family. Couple of things to note, the wood floors on the second floor make it impossible for any sneaking around. Bathrooms were really nice and showers comfortable. There are restaurants close by and a Trader Joe’s walking distance but bring a backpack or two. We would stay here again.

Great

Exactly like the pictures and was super clean and fresh!! Great neighborhood. We felt safe the whole time while staying here. Darlese was fast to respond back when we had a few questions. Out front there are certain days through the week that you can’t park on a specific side of the street for a few hours while the street is being cleaned so just watch out for that. We had a wonderful time and I would definitely recommend this place!!

Excellent stay

By far the easiest stay ever. The house was very clean and well stocked with things like TP, paper towels, linens and towels. It’s furnished well, the beds are very comfortable. All the appliances are new, air fryer, portable fans/heaters, luggage rack…. they thought of anything you may need. Host is very pleasant and easy to communicate with. We had a SUV and parked in the back. Also rented scooters to get to and from the Metro. Quiet neighborhood.

Darlese was great at communicating for arrival and departure directions and super easy. We were able to use the available parking spot behind the row house, which was very convenient. I have a Honda Pilot and would recommend that any vehicle larger than that would have a harder time parking in that spot and instead would need to attain a street permit from Darlese. Pictures were exactly what we got when we arrived. Our stay was 5 nights and there was an abundance of toilet paper, paper towels, and towels/washclothes. The property had recently been renovated and was done in a quality manner, which is difficult to do with a charming older property. We were short walk to Metra, but ended up Ubering to the DC sites, as the temperature was colder than planned.We have to use kitchen to cook meals because we have a child with severe food allergies and the kitchen has all the pots/pans /utensils we needed. I would highly recommend this property.

Lovely 3-BR

We all really loved the decor. The owner has fabulous taste and it was a pleasure to enjoy the space. The parking space was a bonus. The space was as described in the listing though we didn't see a pullout sofa in the living room. (We didn't need it though.) The location was perfect for our needs and the neighborhood is quiet at night. We did have an problem with the heat not working and it couldn't be fixed until the week after we checked out. Fortunately the weather wasn't terribly cold and the heaters helped in the bedrooms but not the large open 1st floor. We asked for and received a small refund. We couldn't find the guidebook in the unit - we looked everywhere. There is an online version but I didn't have my computer with me so it was a challenge to find it. If we need that amount of space for a future visit, we would return.
