We were traveling for our husbands 40th and the house was everything we were hoping for and more. Unfortunately hurricane Erin forced us to evacuate, but Josh was SUPER communicative and helpful through out the whole process and more! There responsiveness was top notch and we will definitely be back and staying at their properties again!

Lovely home and owners who were very communicative and helpful. The living area and kitchen are great, although the kitchen is not as fully equipped as some other rentals we've had. The house also felt a bit worn from the summer season with little repairs needed throughout the house (closet missing, chair arm falling off on deck). We did our best to keep sand out of the house and pool, but it wasn't completely clean when we arrived. Loved the location and proximity to the beach.

Great location!We (2 families: 4 adults, 5 kids) enjoyed a wonderful week at The Sandpiper in July 2025. The location is great and has direct beach access. The house fitted our needs perfectly (accurate listing) and was the perfect homebase for exploring the region and relaxing afterwards in the pool and the hot tub. Furthermore, we enjoyed the nearby HOA facilities (tennis court & pool). Communication with the owners was very essy. Overall we had a great time!

Our Family Trip To Waves

Our stay at this property was amazing! The house itself was perfect for our family. Everything we could possibly need was provided. The location was ideal with shopping conveniently located. The “walk-across” to the beach was great making access to the beach easy especially for the Littles as we had a baby and a 3 year old. We rented a beach wagon making taking beach toys and chairs a breeze. We also rented beach towels as we were all at the beach and pool all the time! Having the washer and dryer in the house was greatly appreciated as well! Communication with the owners was prompt and very helpful! They were never “put out” with our questions! We all had a VERY enjoyable stay and wish to thank our hosts for sharing their absolutely beautiful home with us for the week!

Family Celebration

Great location on OBX for a week long family celebration! Convenient to many OBX activities the length of the island, as well as good restaurants within a short drive (Buxton's Orange Blossom Bakery is a must!). The Sandpiper fulfilled our needs with lots of space, both inside and out, an equipped kitchen, pool and hot tub and doggo friendly. Thanks again Josh and Kimberly.

Home away from home

This trip was a last minute plan. I was looking for somewhere my daughter and I could escape the cold Minnesota weather and enjoy some sun during her spring break. Well everything about this home was perfect. We wanted quiet and relaxing, and we got our wish. Communication with the host was great. Details were clear for check in, while we stayed, and check out. After a long day of travel we were able to check in a little early which was awesome.The home itself is gorgeous and pristine. It left us feeling a great sense of comfort, like we were in our own home. Also, it has all the amenities one needs and then some.The beach was a short walk, beautiful, and we enjoyed the morning sunrises multiple times. The pool was great for the afternoon and heating it was perfect for the cooler days. I hope to come back with the rest of the family and would be more than happy to return to this home. Thank you for such lasting memories and sharing your beautiful home with us.

Delightful stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at The Sandpiper in March 2025. The house layout suited our group really well (three kids, five adults) and had everything we needed. It was the off season so the neighborhood was sleepy, but we enjoyed the quiet and unspoiled sunrises, sunsets, and beach and (heated) pool time in between.

Winter Trip

The house could have been cleaner. The towels were small and thin. Only decaf k cups. One trash bag and 2 dishwasher pods. We enjoyed the beach and walks. The house is nice but for the money we expected more luxury.

Birthday at the Beach

This was the perfect place for my daughter’s birthday weekend! The home was great, the neighborhood was quiet and safe. Josh was super helpful and quick to get a hold of! Would highly recommend and stay again!

Beautiful house in the perfect location

My extended family and I had a wonderful time at The Sandpiper. Even off season, you simply can’t beat just being steps from the beach. The heated pool and hot tub allowed us to enjoy the water, even though the weather was a little cooler. We would definitely stay here again!

Simply amazing

This house was amazing overall and exceeded expectations. Clean, spacious, organized, and comfortable. Not to mention very very beautiful inside and out! My family fell in love with this house and we can’t wait to come back! The pool and hot tub were definitely a nice touch to the house and the outside seating was our favorite.

Very nice house but for a smaller group

This is a very attractive house and is very nicely decorated. I gave it less than 5 stars because the house is advertised to sleep 13 people; however, there are only 8 dining chairs and no extra inside. There are 2 chairs on the deck and 2 chairs by the pool. We really needed more seating for our crew. The downstairs advertises 2 master king bedrooms; however, the bedrooms share a bathroom and to me, that is not a king master if you don't have your own bathroom. The kitchen was lacking in spoons (yes as in silverware) and there was no pantry to store our non-perishable food. The kitchen did have a great knife set and nice coffee maker. Lastly, the house is lower than the neighboring houses, so that you cannot see the ocean over the dunes. It would have been nice to have an ocean view, since we paid for oceanfront. This is a nice house, and it is in a quiet neighborhood. The owners were very responsive to all of my questions, but I just don't think it was big enough for our family of 11.

Amazing venue for our wedding

Just got back from an amazing trip to the Sandpiper. We booked the sandpiper for our wedding venue and we were not disappointed. Had amazing weather and the house is beautiful/perfect location where you have the opportunity to find privacy if you like but still close enough to stores. Also has a very short walk to the beach which we used every day. Owner Josh was very responsive with a question regarding the hot tub. Was able to resolve in minutes. My family and friends are already looking forward to our next OBX vacation. It was a special week for sure.

A wonderful stay

A fantastic location with easy access to the beach. The layout of the house is perfect for families; it was very clean and well equipped. We loved having the pool; it was super clean and sheltered. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. Would return!
