Great property, great location, awful management
My wife and I and friends were planning a trip to Grand Cayman for the first week of February. We had been to Cayman many times and have stayed at resorts as well as rental properties.
Being avid divers, we looked to stay in the West Bay area near the dive shop we used. Doing a simple search, we came upon this property and if available, we wanted to book it.
We tried to book directly with the management company Grand Cayman Condos and Villas. Their website was broken and could not take our reservation. I called and spoke with Ran who said the only way to hold the property was to book through Vrbo. That of course, cost us Vrbo fees on top of the substantial fees from the condo management company.
The communication with Grand Cayman Condos was poor and many times in accurate. We asked many questions about various amenities which turned out to be inaccurate. We were told that we must park in a designated spot only to find that not even the owners of other condos followed this rule.
Finally, Grand Cayman Condos took a large security deposit but would not refund it until 7 business days after we left. While this is in their contract, it made no sense since I checked with the property manager on check out who said we left the property in excellent condition with no damage.
Worse was that the property was likely cleaned and turned over to a new renter on the same day of our departure.
While we love the Caymans, I would never again rent from Grand Cayman Condos.
