Centrally located from hiking, breweries, golf, and a quick trip to Boone and Blowing Rock, the Great Escape is an excellent jumping off spot for day trips and lots of fun nearby.

We had a great stay at this cabin. There is an awesome porch where we enjoyed our morning coffee. There is a gate on the porch which makes it easy to enjoy with your dog.The hill to the cabin is paved and easy to navigate. Great location-we enjoyed hiking at the close by Jefferson state park and enjoyed the nearby downtown.

This cabin was one of my favorite places we have stayed! It was very clean and comfortable. We loved it and can’t wait to come back. The location is very convenient to the city but you still feel like you are secluded. Also, we were able to get Door Dash delivery on the night of our arrival so we didn’t have to run back out to get food. We are looking forward to coming back here again.

The Great Escape was very clean, cozy and comfortable. We appreciated thoughtful touches like coffee and little snacks in the well stocked kitchen. Very convenient to the town of West Jefferson and Mt Jefferson.

Wonderful

This was a very comfortable and relaxing place to stay for our weekend getaway to the mountains as a family. Our pups were so happy to be able to come along with us. We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful

The house was beautiful and we enjoyed our stay. We loved that it was close to all the shops and restaurants. Enjoyed going to the top of Mountain Jefferson State Park.

The host was extremely welcoming and made the booking and check in process very simple. The cabin was beautiful and was packed with all of the creature comforts to make it feel like home. The cabin is secluded enough to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee on the wrap around porch but very close to town for restaurant and shopping activities. The gas fireplace, fast wifi, and pet friendly nature of the property make it an easy choice and somewhere we would certainly stay again.

Great Escape- really perfect!

Home was in a great location close to town. We even had a little snow which we really liked. Everything was clean and kitchen fully stocked. Will definitely come back!

Great location, beautiful property

The property was very clean. It had all the amenities we needed. The location was close to town. Communication with the own was prompt and they are very accommodating. Will definitely stay at this location again.

Great place to stay.

The home was clean and welcoming. Excellent location to explore West Jefferson. Close to grocery store. Just down the road from Mount Jefferson, where my husband took our dog hiking every day. Would definitely return.

We enjoyed the outside deck the most on this trip. Thanks for allowing dogs, and for having a gate on the deck so she could hang out there with us safely. Lots of great hiking in the area, we went to Mt. Jefferson twice, as well as Paddy Mountain and New River State Park.

Great Family Weekend at App State Students

We had a wonderful stay this weekend with our two girls who attend App State. Only 30 minutes to Boone and away from all the traffic! The cabin is beautiful and very relaxing. A great time spent with our girls where we could make them a home cooked meal and relax on the porch with the fire pit.

Great cabin close to everything!

Hubby and I needed to get away…booked this cabin last minute. Devon was immediately responsive!! Easy to get to. Bed was comfy, kitchen was the best stocked kitchen of any cabin we have stayed in. Only a mile from the Mount Jefferson Natural Park which was amazing ! Highly recommend!

The Great Escape Review

My husband and I stayed at the Great Escape in West Jefferson, North Carolina. The owners allowed us to bring our golden retriever, which was great. The house was perfect and had everything you needed for a stay in the mountains. The owners were very kind and helpful, and answered emails quickly. I highly recommend the Great Escape and hope to be back next summer!

Beautiful home right outside of town.

This was a beautiful property that was conveniently located right outside of West Jefferson. The house was clean, well decorated and had the best outdoor seating. The owners reply to any messages with minutes. If we're back in W. Jefferson we will definitely stay with them again.
