Thank you for the time that you took to review along with your kind words. I will say that it can take 15 minutes to walk to any part of the main Whistler village however it is only 3 blocks away from the main commercial area of the Village (largest grocery store, fast food outlets such as McD, KFC and Tim Hortons, liquor store largest pharmacy, etc.) so it really should only take someone 5 minutes or less to get to this area of the village. Hope that you and your group return again in the future as you are more than welcome! Glad to know that you enjoyed your time at Lorimer Ridge Lodge in Whistler!

Hello Estelle, Thank you for the feedback. The home is indeed very well laid out for family groups and I am glad to know that you and yours enjoyed yourselves. Lorimer Ridge Lodge is not air conditioned. We do supply fans for all bedrooms and a few for the common areas also. The home was built in 1994 and back then putting in air conditioning was not a normal practice in Whistler (before global warming and the slight average increase in temperature). The home has radiant floor heating and if I installed a separate system with forced air, it would require exterior piping and would negatively impact the exterior look of the home. So far, I have found that the need for A/C is limited and not worth changing the aesthetically pleasing look of the home as it is. In Whistler, even on the hottest of days, the nighttime temperatures tend to cool down the home enough (in conjunction with the fans) to keep it comfortable. Kind regards, Fernando

Hello Owen, thank you for the positive feedback about the home and for taking the time to write a review. Our caretaker has her own separate suite within the house that is not accessible by the guests. Previously there was a condition of our operating license with the Resort Municipality of Whistler that included us having a live-in caretaker. During the past 8 years (the current caretaker's tenure), this has changed and we are now in the process of adjusting the job to not include having a live-in caretaker. Her presence outside of her suite in the home is kept to a minimum during guest stays (she may have to do such things as remove the garbage from the area at the bottom of the side stairs). In addition to this the caretaker has the following other purposes: • To assist the guests with any questions about the house or Whistler plus provide a tour upon arrival. • If any appliances or other items break down during your stay, she is able to contact me or the appropriate repair person/company. • To ensure that the tenancy agreement policies are adhered to. We are currently in the process of searching for a Whistler local that will take on these tasks without requiring a residence within the house. Best regards, Fernando

Hello Claire, Thank you for the review. I really do appreciate the feedback. Our normal property caretaker was away on holidays before, during and after your stay and person filling in is not as experienced nor did they possess the same eye for detail as we normally have. Whistler's tourism sector has been greatly impacted by the labour shortage and we has also fallen victim to not being able to hire any new staff to help out during short staffing times. This is really not an excuse and we will strive to do better moving forward, specifically targetting kitchen cleaning. Best regards, Fernando

Our cleaning team does take great pride in the work that they do between guest groups and I am glad to see that it does not go unnoticed. Our caretaker is on-site with her own suite and entrance that cannot be accessed by guests. The direction that I provide to her is only be visible or engage the guest groups if called upon to do so (normally when guests call her and in the event of help with an appliance or perhaps questions about Whistler).
