Beautiful hotel right in the heart of Whitby, lots of restaurants around and a short walk from the famous 199 steps. Good value and friendly staff. The supply of shampoo and conditioner was a thoughtful addition.

Delightful hidden gem

This was a lovely little hideaway right in the middle of town but tucked away and quiet. Very comfortable and clean room with a balcony over the beautiful courtyard, and delicious food just next door. Perfect spot to relax and unwind, and see all the sights of Whitby.

Great stay

Such a good stay. The Dove Loft was clean and beautiful. With two rooms it's perfect for a couple like us who enjoyed the space. The room felt really special and I can't thank them enough for being available on the phone when we arrived late and helping us find the place. Perfect.

Little oasis.

What a lovely place to stay, a proper little oasis! Cosy room, rain shower and quality toiletries. Ignore hotels.com comment that states towels and bedding not included, they definitely are.

Good comfy bed, good location nicely decorated. Things that could have been better - a couple of coat hangers, a fan or summer duvet as the bed and room were very hot at night. Nice touch of wine glasses but could do with a fridge for the wine.

Bed too small, uncomfortable and pillows unsupportive. No proper curtain so privacy an issue. Tv was tiny and a brand I’d never heard of. There was a splattered dead fly on the pillow case.

Pleasant stay

We didn’t actually see anybody on arrival or during our stay, our key was in the door when we arrived. The room was clean and cosy. Unfortunately we didn’t have enough coffee for the cafetière, or loose leaf tea although there were containers for both. We also ran out of milk on the first day it wasn’t replenished while we were out for the day and didn’t realise until the evening, thankfully a local cafe was open and helped us out. The room wasn’t serviced during our stay, this could just be a misunderstanding on our part as to the type of accommodation we had booked (I was thinking hotel). We did have a lovely stay however and it would not put us off coming again (just with more of our own tea/coffee/toiletries.
