So, to start we had to call the host for the correct lockbox code as the one we were given was not correct. Not a huge issue at all, he picked up quickly and we were able to get in right after that. When we walked into the apartment initially, it looked just as pictured and seemed really cute. However within the hour once we were getting settled, we noticed some huge issues. The kitchen floors were disgusting, they didnt look like they had been cleaned/mopped in ages. Every surface felt oddly sticky, we even wiped the fridge down because the doors were sticking. All 3 of the AC units had black mold. We cleaned out the air filters in each one and they looked like they hadn't been cleaned in MONTHS. We were trying to pick the best bed to sleep in for the night before possibly booking a hotel, so when we were giving the covers a once over, there were stains all over, the headboard had weird splatters of... Something (?) all over it. And around the edges of the bedframe were also disgusting. Even the couch was stained and sticky. Usually if it was something minor, I would contact the host to come by and fix something, however I have never really had to do that before. This , to me and my husband, was something beyond contacting the host. We immediately contacted VRBO to let them know and send all the images to let them know exactly what we were seeing. We didn't even spend the night there. We ended up spending an additional 600 to book a hotel.
