Great family getaway

The place was nice and quiet with plenty of lake activities. The host was very accommodating and quick to communicate. We will definitely want to visit again.

Pictures don’t do this place justice!

We had a great stay in the bear cabin. So much we hated to leave on Sunday. The view is amazing and cabin is cozy. It’s a great place to relax and unplug and reset.

Amazing

Our stay was perfect. Cabin was cozy and clean. The owner responded quickly and had everything set up for our needs. If you want a relaxing get away with beautiful views this is the place. We will be returning.

Too short of a stay!

Overall our stay was wonderful. The cabin was clean, cozy and quiet. The lake was beautiful and peaceful. Next time we stay, we hope to come for longer than 2 nights!Our host stayed in contact during our stay and sent check out instructions reminders which was appreciated. And although we didn’t have any issues during our time there I am confident that he would have addressed them quickly.

Perfect

Quaint and cozy with a beautiful view, good fishing and completely what we were looking for in a weekend getaway to unplug. Met Dwight the first day and was pleased with how clean the property was. The dogs loved the outside and my wife and I found a place we will want to go again and again.

Peaceful lake

We stayed in late June. It was exactly what we were looking for. The cabin follows a tiny home concept and the property is much larger in terms of acreage than we imagined. Hardly a soul on the lake. Great get-away. Town is close enough to get anything you need.

Relaxing getaway

We had a wonderful time at Bear cabin. It was quiet and secluded, just what we were looking for. All the amenities were great, especially loved the paddle boards provided. The cove kept the waters calm despite the higher winds. The fire pit was another favorite spot! Would love to come back in the future!!

Amazing beauty all around.

The place is like a movie set, beautiful lake surrounded by trees with a heavenly feeling close to the nature. The place is super cute with everything you need to eat, rest and have fun. Even though we didn't use any water sports equipment like paddleboat, canoe etc, it was there for fun. The place is very peaceful with natural sounds of trees, water and birds. CANT WAIT TO GO BACK AGAIN IN FEW MONTHS.

Fun country getaway

Great little cabin right on the lake with a deck on the water. All the amenities a cabin should have. We caught 2 catfish off the deck in the lake! And our dogs absolutely loved it and it was nice that we could bring them along bc not many places let you. Owner is very nice as well. We will be back!

Perfect fun and relaxing spot

Bear cabin was great. From the very clean and beautiful cabin to the amazing view. My son loved the lofts and my dog had a huge fenced in property to run and do dog things. Fishing off the huge dock not 50 yards from the cabin to having access to all the boating options and outdoor games that came with our stay. The owner was fantastic and had a great time talking with him and even getting a nice little tour of the property. We will definitely be back. The pictures do not do justice to this beautiful spot.

Perfect little Place

We didn’t get to really enjoy all there was to do at this little house! We came for a basketball tournament in Mt Pleasant and were very busy. It’s so quiet and peaceful it was a perfect place to come home to. I wish we had more free time or weren’t so tired when we got back because fishing and paddle boarding would be so fun! Everything was clean and wonderful! The house manager was very kind and easy to work with. Would definitely stay again!!!

Magical

Our family just spent our first vacation here and I have to say it was the most amazing experience. The kids swam, boated, and fished all day! We all watched the sun rise and set above the water which was nice. Everything was nice and clean inside the cabin and we had zero issues with internet, not that we used it that much. I especially adored the bear plates and mugs. We will be making this a yearly family trip. Thank you for sharing your space with our family!!!!

A great cabin. Very clean and private. Comes with everything you need, just bring food and your family. Brookshires is only 3 min away. Dwight is a great host as he makes sure you know everything you need to know.

This place is beautiful

We will be coming back. Everything in the description was spot on. The property was peaceful, and the lake was calm. It is not a party lane so it was amazing how calm and relaxing the stay was. My kids loved all of the paddle boards and kayaks. I loved the sunrise coming over the lake with my coffee.

Perfect Little Getaway

Can’t say enough about this little Gem. If you are looking for a little getaway in the woods then this is your place! Both the property and the cabin were super clean, access to the lake is great, amazingly quiet, owners are outstanding and super easy to communicate with. We enjoyed our time there and will definitely be going back!

Quick Getaway

We came for two nights from about an hour away. Just needed to unplug and it was perfect for that. We did the canoe at sunset and sat on the lounge area near the cabin just to listen to the water. Quiet and secluded. We did restaurants in Mineola and Winnsboro that were close. Cabin is larger than it first seems. We liked the loft bed. Highly recommend.

Great Secluded Lake Spot

Brought my two girls, 7 and 9 for July 4th weekend. Beautiful spot. The lake is shallow so they were able to play around in the lake in a wide area. Great view from the cabin, great internet and cell service. Plenty of space by yourself. Great water and game toys as well. While the size is not for everyone, we made it work fine. My tip is to buy water shoes if you are to swim in the lake. It will just make the experience a little better. Great value over all. We will be back hopefully.

Cozy getaway

We loved the Bear cabin! Everything was very clean and well maintained. We have stayed in tiny homes before where the lofts do not get very good air and get hot, but the air at this cabin is well circulated and stays nice and cool in the loft. The outdoor space is very enjoyable as well. The lake was a lot of fun especially with all of the lake stuff provided. My wife and dog especially liked the paddle boards. We love staying in cabins for short getaway trips and this was one of our favorites so far. Thank you Dwight for creating such a beautiful place and sharing it with us!
