Salt box on Brinson’s

  • Come and relax in a traditional Newfoundland salt box. Located on Brinson’s Hill in the town of Winterton. Our home is period with modern touches.
    The harbour is a short walk where you can take in the scenic views and the smell of the sea air.
    Winterton is located on Trinity Bay. Home to the Wooden boat museum. Short drive to Carbonear, St.John’s is a 1.5 hr drive.
    Come enjoy some time away in our salt box. Surely cannot miss it. IT’S PINK.

    The space

    Our home offers three bedrooms and one bathroom.
    Two bedrooms provide a queen bed in each. The third bedroom provides a single bed.
    Inside all the amenities are provided whether your stay is short or a long term. Internet is provided along with board games for extra entertainment.
    Outdoor space we patio chairs to enjoy the evening stars and the sound of the ocean.
    We are a pet friendly home so your furry friends are welcome.

A glimpse into Newfoundland's past with lots of charm and rustic touches.It was also clean, had comfy beds and definitely made you want to stay longer. A cozy home where you could step out outside and smell the salt breeze and hear the sound of sea gulls!

We loved this house, it was so home and comfy - it brought back alot of memories of when we were kids. The rustic charm. The artifacts, the beautiful colors. We loves the boardgamea and played fishopoly. The warm ocean breeze coming through the windows, watching the curtains blow. The beds were so comfy. Loved the color of the appliances. Very Clean and welcoming. We would highly recommend this property.

The Saltbox has been renovated with love. It maintains the link to Newfoundland'past while providing all modern conveniences. It would be very comfortable for a long stay. We wish we had been able to stay longer but we hope to return. This is an exceptional property and it was a pleasure to deal with Robin.

What a charming property. The owners have thought of everything! It was authentic, comfortable and had all the conveniences one needs for a relaxing stay. We really enjoyed Winterton too. Plenty of hiking options and if you are lucky, there is probably some excellent entertainment at Trinity Hall which is directly across the lane. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay at the Saltbox . Very unique property. It has everything you need and lots of extra touches . Beautifully decorated to fit the location and time period . Also nice touches like books about the area and things connected to fishing industry (knot tying instruction kit ) . A lovely area to explore . We were there to go to the Wooden Boat Museum . Very well done . The host was very good at communication . We would definitely recommend staying here . We wished we had more time to do that . Our favourite place so far in our trip to Nfld .

I had an absolutely wonderful stay! The house is so cozy and thoughtfully decorated and appointed. Though I visited during a January wind storm, I still appreciated the beautiful view from the upstairs windows. When I had an issue, the hosts were very quick to assist and to offer solutions. I would love to return!
The view just down the hill!
So, so cozy.
The kitchen is a vintage-lover’s DREAM.
So many cute details!
