Ubicado en la puerta de entrada a la legendaria montaña Overlook de Woodstock, Rock City Writer’s Studio está a poca distancia (poco más de 1/2 milla) del Woodstock Village Green, donde encontrará galerías, boutiques, restaurantes y cafeterías. Prepare refrigerios y comidas en su cocina bien equipada, y sírvalos en el porche de piedra azul, o en la mesa de piedra azul en el césped con una parrilla de gas rodeada de jardines.

Disfrute de una sauna relajante en su sauna nórdica para dos, seguido de una ducha bajo una claraboya.

El salón se convierte en un acogedor dormitorio por la noche. Nos complace anunciar que nuestro sofá cama original ha sido reemplazado por un nuevo Comfort Sleeper de American Leather. Esta "maravilla de la ingeniería" de alta gama se abre en una lujosa cama queen con una plataforma sólida (sin barras, muelles ni flacidez) y un grueso colchón de espuma de alta densidad con sábanas de lujo. Descrito como "sin sofá cama", el Comfort Sleeper es fácil de operar, se abre y cierra sin esfuerzo y es extremadamente cómodo para una noche de sueño reparador.

La sala de estar también cuenta con un televisor de alta definición de pantalla plana de 32 pulgadas con servicio de cable y un reproductor de Blu-Ray, así como una extensa colección de libros y DVD. Otras comodidades incluyen toallas y batas de spa, WIFI y estacionamiento privado.

MASCOTAS

The Writer's Studio is very a comfortable and tucked away little cottage. I was pleased with all the, privacy while still being in easy proximity to the bustle of woodstock. It was clean and had everything I needed for my visit. At night remember to look at the stars.

Long Fall weekend getaway

Comfy and cozy place, we were so relaxed during our stay. Location was perfect for us. The only thing i would like more of is water pressure in shower! We hope to get back there next fall!

Sweet Historic Cottage

Wonderful place to stay for visiting the village. Both the manager and the owner are kind and accommodating and it was a pleasure to communicate with them. The outdoor space is lovely and peaceful. It was challenging for two people on the inside without a bedroom and with a tiny shower, but the bathroom is very comfortable and pleasant.

Quaint studio, beautiful grounds, killer location

The studio is very adorable and quaint. The location is amazingly central to Woodstock without being too close. The property is beautiful and well maintained. I wanted to just lounge in the yard and bask in the beautiful natural setting.

Serene stay

The stay was wonderful. Peaceful and private place with a water source in the back yard that you can hear. Clean home and open communication with host. I highly recommend and will return in the future.

We did not want to leave!

We had a lovely time enjoying the garden, Woodstock and its surroundings. It is the perfect spot for a quiet, relaxing time close to nature. Lovely friendly owner, quick to respond whenever we had a query and to fix the issue. We never wanted to move.

Perfectly romantic.

This sweet spot is a great place to experience the beauty of the area, and the cozy cottage also makes for a nice romantic getaway. My husband and I used it as home base for exploring various towns in the Hudson Valley and its proximity to Woodstock-proper can't be beat. Also, the kitchen is well stocked with all kinds of cookware, and since we also attended a group potluck event, I was able to make a fab dish with what was available in the kitchen. Highly recommended.

Incredibly charming!!! A slice of wilderness heaven. I loved waking up with the light hitting all the surrounding trees. It was so quiet and serene. I took 2 saunas a day and it’s glorious showering under the skylight. The middle of town is a stones throw away and walkable however I wouldnt walk the road after dark as there is no sidewalk. My biggest complaint is the pull out couch. It was one of the worst I’ve ever had to sleep on. You definitely have to sleep with your head at the foot of the bed to make it tolerable. Aside from the bed I absolutely loved it and cannot wait to return!!!

Small studio charming, great location, only sofa bed very uncomfortable and is the only bed

The cottage is a very small- one room studio with an uncomfortable sofa bed . We could feel the frame of the bed while lying down. Once the bed was open there was hardly any space to walk around to get to the bathroom or kitchen area. The shower was a 2.5 ft square and off the kitchen The review didn’t make it obvious that there was only a sofabed and no dedicated bedroom Now when I read the description I see they never said there was a queen size bed or a double bed instead it’s cryptically described If we had realized that there was no separate bedroom and only a sofa bed to sleep on,we wouldn’t have chosen this property. But if the person reading this review is ok with this, then this is a perfect place for you It’s very small, charming, cozy and a great location

Great Solo Trip

I had a wonderful stay at the property as a solo traveler! Everything was exactly as specified, and I felt like I had everything I needed. It was a perfect few minute drive from town and close by to the other area towns I wanted to visit. It’s worth seeing who is playing at Leven Helms Studios, which is a unique concert venue and a quick five minute drive. I did want to mention that although the shower was fine for me, if not a bit cramped, that if you are a larger person, it may be an issue for you. I look forward to returning another time with my husband!

Peace at Rock City

This stay was nothing short of amazing. From the beginning all of my questions were answered promptly and when I needed to adjust my stay the accommodations were made with no issues. The home itself is small but perfect for my single girls getaway. I needed down time where I could recharge. This place allowed just that. It was quiet and secluded yet the location allowed easy trips to town and surrounding areas. It was well appointed and had everything I needed for. 5-night stay. I would highly recommend this location for a single or couple. Would love to come back again soon!

this spot is super sweet. the bed is comfy and the sauna makes it all worth it. there's a sweet surprise in the shower. and we even got a surprise visit from a baby deer.

So Nice, I've Stayed There Thrice

I just finished my third-ever stay at Rock City Writers Studio. Previously, I'd stayed in fall 2016 (with another adult) and spring 2017 (by myself), for 3-4 days each time. This time, I stayed for a full week, and I had my 15-year-old daughter with me, because I wanted her to experience the peace & quiet and quirky charm of RCWS. We both loved the feeling of having a tiny little house all to ourselves, and enjoyed seeing bunnies and cats out in the yard on most days. The sleeper couch is still comfy and convenient -- a snap to deploy and put away. My daughter was initially suspicious of the little shower "closet" in the kitchen, despite me assuring her that she'd be fine. Once she tried it for herself, she was sold! Three of the days of our stay were extremely hot, with a heat index over 100 degrees. On those days, RCWS was very hot inside when we got back for the evening. Leaving the kitchen door open to the screened-in porch for a couple of hours fixed that problem -- aided and abetted by the box fan that I'd brought from home. Overall, this is a charming little place. It's become an important part of my visits to Woodstock. I will definitely be back!
