Situado en el corazón del histórico valle de Shenandoah, Deer Haven ofrece fácil acceso a vistas inigualables del valle en veinte acres aislados que respaldan el Bosque Nacional.

Deer Haven está a solo 160 kilómetros de Washington DC, a treinta minutos del Parque Nacional Shenandoah, las estaciones de esquí Bryce y Massanutten y las espectaculares Cavernas Luray, y a solo minutos de numerosos campos de batalla de la Guerra Civil, bodegas, tiendas de antigüedades y el río Shenandoah, y Rutas de senderismo en el bosque nacional.

** NOTA PARA INVITADOS DE INVIERNO:
Recientemente pavimentamos la parte más difícil del camino de entrada, sin embargo ocasionalmente nevamos en el área. El camino hasta la cabaña es empinado. Haremos nuestro mejor esfuerzo para arar la carretera en caso de que nieve, sin embargo, si la carretera tiene nieve o hielo, será muy difícil de manejar sin la tracción en las cuatro ruedas o en las cuatro ruedas.

Trabajaremos con los huéspedes en caso de mal tiempo para ver si pueden alcanzar y disfrutar de la cabina. Dicho esto, los huéspedes deben controlar el clima y planear tomar un vehículo de cuatro ruedas o con tracción total durante los meses de invierno en caso de que haya nieve o hielo. We had a wonderful, relaxing stay at Deer Haven. We enjoyed rocking on the front porch, and melting our worries away in the hot tub. My sisters and I talked well into the night, then slept like rocks in the well appointed bedrooms. It is a beautiful place inside with the beauty of nature surrounding us outside.

Great place!

My first impression was how clean the place was. We were a total of 5 people and felt there was plenty of room for all of us to feel comfortable. In the room with the open windows, the surmise was beautiful but a sleep mask definitely helps if you don’t want to wake up when the sun comes up!

This airbnb (Deer Haven)is just lovely. It is just like the pictures and incredibly clean! I actually couldn't get over how clean it is. Everything is well-stocked - the kitchen, linens, etc. The surrounding area is beautiful. John, the owner, supplies plenty of info about things to do in the area; but we just hung around, relaxed, enjoyed the view and used the hot tub. John also replied to our messages promptly. There were no problems - we just messaged him to say how much we were enjoying ourselves. We even booked another weekend in the fall already. The only important thing to be aware of is the final part of the drive - the path up the mountain. It's rocky and very narrow -no passing possible - and has a couple steep parts and tricky turns. I don't think a two wheel drive vehicle would make it, and I wouldn't do it after dark. My friends and I are already looking forward to our next visit in October.

Had a lovely, relaxing couples trip and it was everything was wanted it to be. It was quiet and secluded, a bit of a bumpy road getting there, but worth what you find at the end! We really enjoyed the observation deck, views, nostalgic classic board game selection, and hot tub.The hosts did a great job of making sure everything we needed was available for a comfortable stay.

Beautiful Mountain Retreat

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Deer Haven. The house was very clean and welcoming, offered breathtaking views, was thoughtfully decorated, and stocked with everything you need to make it a home away from home. We enjoyed our morning coffee each day watching the deer and wild turkeys roam the property, and the views of the sunsets were truly amazing! The owners provided so much helpful information well in advance of our arrival, including wonderfully detailed driving directions, local recommendations, and everything we needed to know about the house. That really helped to take the stress out of planning, and we were able to sit back and relax as soon as we stepped through the doorway. A wonderful experience all around. Thank you!

Perfect weekend getaway!

My boyfriend and I wanted to take a little trip to get away from the stresses of everyday life for the weekend. When we arrived at Deer Haven, not only was the view and the house beautiful, but it smelled so clean when we walked in the door.. and it was! The house was equipped with everything we needed- we just had to bring our own food, drinks, and toiletries. We loved sitting out on the deck taking in the beautiful view while drinking our coffee in the morning or having a glass of wine in the evening. The hot tub was so warm and relaxing and we used the fireplace in the living room which created a warm and cozy atmosphere. Overall, Deer Haven was exactly what we needed to relax and refresh our souls for a few days. Everything was great and we had no reason to reach out to our hosts during our stay as everything was just as described. We were sad to leave but we will definitely be back! Thank you, John, for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Amazing Mountaintop Retreat

This property was absolutely wonderful in every way--views, furnishings, hot tub, deck, porches. Wonderful Stay

We altogether really loved our stay at this cabin! It's both cozy and spacious, and we really appreciated a bit of privacy/seclusion being in the woods. It had pretty much anything we needed to enjoy our stay, and the hosts were really communicative and wonderful in making our stay comfortable.

Beautiful hide-away

We really enjoyed our stay. Even though we live just 30 miles away, we felt removed from the daily grind and enjoyed a few days of relaxation with a view! We were a little nervous about the drive way but the minivan handled it fine (thankfully no winter weather to contend with). Great location- enjoyed Woodstock Cafe and Seven Bends park nearby. Convenient to grab groceries at Walmart. Would definitely come back for a break in the future! Thank you!

A Treasure in the Woods

We had a wonderful stay at Deer Haven. The house was clean and very comfortable. The views were amazing, and the hot tub was perfect after long days of hiking. Nice outside deck seating and interior seats to allow for maximum views enjoyment! Would definitely rent this house again if we return to the area.

Deer Haven is a very comfortable and spacious house on a secluded property with a great view from the balcony and upstairs bedroom. It is exactly as described on the VRBO listing. We enjoyed our stay and especially liked sitting around a cozy fire in the outdoor firepit. Would return to Deer Haven again with no hesitation !

Peaceful and relaxing

This house is awesome! John is so helpful and responds promptly to answer any questions you may have. I booked this house because my parents (mom is 88 Dad is 90) have family in Virginia and wanted to see the mountains and the trees dressed in there fall leaves. This house gave them both!
