“We enjoyed a lovely evening and overnight stay here. Katie gave us a warm welcome on arrival and she and her team were excellent throughout our stay. There is a clear focus on customer service. Our room (4 -The Aviary) was perfect and had a beautiful bathroom with free standing bath as well as a shower. Our evening meal and breakfast were excellent. We can't fault this place - great for an overnight stay ”

I arrived late due to being held up at work so called ahead, the chap on the phone was kind enough to wait 1hr30 past the check-in deadline for me to get there, thank you! Had only booked the single room for 1 night, while the room could be classed as a little snug it was nothing less than very comfortable. “When you stay at the Maids Hotel, the one thing that is fixed in your mind is “stairs” unless you can cope with stairs at every turn, this is not the hotel for you. This is because the hotel is a heritage building and it doesn’t lend itself to easy step free access. “No air conditioning, staff wasn’t knowledgeable about local restaurants, 10 lb charge for early check in, another person that was staying there ate dinner at about 5:00 pm and he left his silverware and a mess on the table and no staff person cleaned it up till the following morning.
