  • Located on popular OceanView Dr and just a few blocks from the heart of Yachats. This quaint 2 bedroom, 1 bath home is great for a small family or a group of friends. There is a bench at the edge of the property perfect for those sunny days to sit and watch the waves crash along the rocks below, watch the whales spout, or watch the ever changing sunsets. This great home includes premium cable service and WiFi!

    Need more space? Rent this home along with Big Sea next door (sleeps 6) and/or Breakers (sleeps 4).

Our 47th wedding anniversary

Yachats was a great little place for a week of quiet reflection. The weather was great and we had a front row seat for the angry sea ahead of a small summer storm.

We loved the storm, the closeness to town, the view of the ocean. It was comfy. Would do it again.

Ocean view

Such a delightful cabin right on the cliffs. 50 feet out the back door are amazing rocks with crashing waves. ocean view from the living room and the kitchen. Overall just delightful and a quiet neighborhood for walking.

Serenity

The retreat was quiet, comfy and cozy! I adored the ocean view from the kitchen window and the privacy of the space and the homey vibe. Just a short walk from the door was the big blue Pacific, and a bench to sit upon and savor it all.

Great place!

This is a classic beach house- a little quirky, cute, water view and walking distance to town. The house had everything we needed and we had a great time there. We had some great wave watching from the bench on the property and we took some great walks- you can walk to town one direction and eventually to nice walking path the other direction. This is a great little house!

Perfect little house!

Not at all fancy, but had everything we needed, including a killer location just above the surf for all-day views. Easy walk to the shops and restaurants. Just a few minutes north of Cape Perpetua. Everything was very clean.

A bit chilly drafty - the floor in the kitchen is wet by the window from a leaking roof We pay a cleaning fee but that doesn’t include laundry what seems strange to me but a fun stay great location to town and trails

Property very old. Furniture old and uncomfortable. All appliances worked well. The back yard s a mess. The shrubs obscured the ocean view from the house which sits way back on the property. The replaced windows were nice but several were missing their screens. The location was perfect.

Nice place to stay

As some others have said in their reviews, this place could use some TLC, however the important things (to us anyway) were great. The place was clean. The bed was comfortable. Everything worked in the bathroom and kitchen. And the view from the bench in the backyard is stunning. We had good weather and enjoyed a few meals right there on the bench.

As advertised and reviewed

Doc's is dated from a furnishings standpoint and could use a queen size bed in one of the rooms instead of a double. The mattresses are a tad on the soft side. However, the kitchen is well equipped and the house is clean. For the price, the location cannot be beat as it is a short walk to everything in Yachats and the views are excellent.

A quiet place with a beautiful view

We really enjoyed the view and location of this house. My only complaints by is that if you really want to do some good cooking the kitchen pots and pans are not very good. Could use an upgrade in this area.

Quiet, Clean, Close

Very comfortable & cozy, I call it a beach cabin vibe. Very clean and well stocked. The outside and particularly the entryway could use some TLC, but ignore it, it is not reflective of the inside. Comfortable furniture and bed, we especially appreciated the excellent lighting! Perfect location for visiting Yachats, no more than a half mile walk to anything. We did not use our car all week. Excellent eating i n Yachats.

Wonderful stay in Yachats!

Loved waking up every morning to this view, and walking to all of the shops in Yachats. Doc's Retreat could use a little love (maybe a coat of paint) but the bed was super comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. One of the things we were hoping to enjoy were the recliners that are pictured on the vrbo listing, but there are not recliners there. We did contact Ocean Odyssey for one issue and they responded very quickly.

Cozy with a great view

We had a very relaxing stay. It was cozy with a wood stove we took advantage of. Great view of the ocean, basically the whole side facing the ocean is windows. Perfect size for Hubby, Son, 2 dogs and me. It is older, but we didn’t mind that. it’s in a nice, quiet, neighborhood. it was clean and had comfortable beds. Wish it had more comfortable furniture for lounging. Very small bathroom and the shower would probably be too small for a larger person to turn around in. We Didn’t have any trouble with electrical or plug ins as others mentioned. We cooked the whole weekend and it was stocked with everything we needed for that. Overall, I had a great time and will book again.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Wonderful place to stay for my great grandson's birthday. We have had family reunions in the Yachats area since the 1970s. My only complaint is the "sleeper" couch. My daughter and her husband had to put the mattress on the floor, and even then it was not comfortable. Please do not advertise this as a sleeping option. Even as a couch, not folded out, it is too short for one person to sleep on unless they are pretty short. Loved watching the waves come in, and only a short walk to paths down to the rocks/beach (depending on tide).
