  • Conway Cottage is a self-catering Apartment situated in the heart of York, just 10 minutes’ walk to the City Centre and University and overlooking the medieval city walls. We offer our guests with free complementary tea/coffee, milk & juice. Free Fiber Optic super fast WiFi and free on-street parking are also provided. We now use self check in system so you can check in anytime after 1400hrs.

    To make your stay more comfortable, we now use a Luxury Premium sprung pocket mattress due to which repeat guests choose us. This first floor holiday apartment features a spacious bedroom with a highly comfortable Queen size luxury pocket sprung bed, modern dressing table and all essential fitted furniture. There is a fully fitted kitchen with ceramic electric hob, electric oven, fridge-freezer, kettle, microwave and all items required for preparing and cooking needs. The bathroom comes with shower, hairdryer & fresh towels. The lounge has a wide screen TV with additional channels, sofa and a solid oak dining table for 3.

    With an extensive range of restaurants and attractions close by, Conway Cottage apartment is perfect for a city break. York's Barbican Center, Famous York City Walls & Co-op supermarket are just 4 minutes walk. York Rail Station is 6 minutes’ drive away and has connections to all regions of the United Kingdom. London is only 2 hours away by train. Children over 10 years old are welcomed in this apartment.

Apartment was great, located just outside the city walls, plenty of parking, 10 minute walk into city centre, 15 minutes to York Minster, 10 minutes to York Castle Museum. Ideally located for all the best tourist spots, defiantly would stay again.

Property was ideally placed for city centre and in very good order. The downside for us, being an older couple, was the stairs which took a lot out of us carrying the luggage to the apartment. Other than that, it was very good. The host could not be more helpful and was vert kind and polite.

Wonderful Cottage! Great Location!

Conway Cottage at Fishergate In York is highly recommended! The cottage is very well kept with everything you need for a comfortable, homey stay in York. Great kitchen that is well appointed and comfortable bed. The cottage is in a super location and an easily walk to city center/old town in York and also York University. Lots of shops/restaurants very close to the cottage. The host is super responsive to any need you have. We will definitely stay at Conway Cottage again on our next visit to York.

Great place, in a perfect location, and an excellent host.

from booking to leaving the host of this property has been amazing replying promptly to any inquiry and checking that everything was good. The location on the edge of the city wall allows you to walk to all the attractions in York easily. As an added bonus there is a major supermarket a few minutes walk away. We easily found car parking. The flat is very clean and is well equipped with quality linens, comfortable bed, and a well stocked kitchen. A fan was available as we were there during a heat wave. . We wanted for nothing during our stay and would highly recommend Conway Cottage.

Delightful land comfortable flat in ideal location

We stayed at Conway Cottage three nights while my husband attended a conference at York University. The cottage is very comfortably appointed, located in an ideal location just outside the city within a 15 minute walk of the University and about a 20 minute walk to the center of the City. It was very quiet, but still not far from a bus route, two supermarkets (new Coop and a lovely Waitrose), and restaurants (including Jenny's Fish & Chips, and a nice Chinese restaurant). Our hosts were exceptionally thoughtful and helpful. We had a small problem with the shower drain, but it got fixed immediately. Also, the kitchen is very well equipped, internet fast, bed large and very comfortable. All in all, one of the best holiday flats we'e stayed in.

Really nice appartment only about 5 minutes from city centre

Really nice experience staying at Conway cottage perfect location, i was able to park outside with just a 5 minute walk to city centre very cpmfortable.

5 Night stay

Picked this property mainly for the location, as we were running the Marathon and then staying in York for a few days. Just outside the walls but only a short walk to the centre. Apartment itself is very clean and well equipped, would highly recommend.

Clean, comfortable and welcoming

The flat was ideally positioned in order to discover York by foot. The owners had gone to considerable trouble to make us feel welcome eg a vase of flowers, a tray of sweets and essentials in the fridge and food cupboard. The only draw back was that parking was not necessarily possible directly outside the flat which was difficult for loading and unloading the car.

Perfect stay!

Really enjoyed our stay at Conway Cottage. The flat had everything we needed. Really quiet, lovely cosy feel. Bed was very comfortable and flat was equipped with everything we needed. York was amazing. Would love to go back and stay at the cottage again. Straight forward arrangements to get keys and brilliant location easy walking distance to all the attractions.

A nice apartment steps away from the city walls of York

The apartment was just outside the city walls of York and about a 10 minute walk into the city center. The Barbican Gate was just a couple of minutes walk away along with a large food store. The apartment was clean and well appointed to include new carpets. It had a full kitchen and the internet work flawlessly. The bedroom was large and the bed comfortable. The apartment is off a busy street but we really did not any street noise. Our host was friendly and went out of his way to give us good local restaurant recommendations away from the tourist zone. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the apartment and the people we met in York. My wife and I would recommend staying here again.

Best location, great hospitality and very comfortable

We highly recommend this property if you are a couple and want somewhere special to stay in York! This apartment is just outside the old city walls of York. It's less than 10 minutes' walk to the heart of the city (The Shambles and York Minster etc). There is a supermarket two minutes walk away and slightly further to some good restaurants - we really liked Toto (Italian). We had a car and Adrian the apartment owner, who runs a B&B next door, very kindly made sure we always had a parking space. Access in and out of York is easy if you want to drive off for the day to Fountains Abbey, Castle Howard or Scarborough - as we did. The apartment itself is lovely, it has a well appointed kitchen, good bathroom, comfortable living room and a beautiful bedroom with a very comfortable bed. Spotless through out. Lots of nice touches to make you feel at home. If you are planning a visit to York just book this place!
