The property was nicely finished and whilst small, we knew that and it was perfect for our family of 3. The living and kitchen area is one space but the high ceiling helps give it a sense of size. The area the cottage is located in, the grounds of Middlethorpe Manor and hotel are nice too. The cleaners were still there when we arrived 45 minutes after our started arrival time. Luckily they were nearly finished so we didn't have to wait long. But whilst the property seemed superficially clean, the details were missed as there were cobwebs hanging on several walls, dirty window sills and rubbish under one of the beds that had been missed. Not enough to make it feel dirty but worth noting that perhaps the cleaners need to pay more attention. The neighbour at #6 had a dog which yapped and we after knocking to see if they were in, they weren't so I called the Pass the keys support to see if they could get in touch with them in case they were also holiday makers. The following day a gentleman from that cottage was needlessly rude to my wife outside. Parking: the instructions sent showed a picture labelled 'Parking space' suggesting it was allocated to cottage 5 but the guest book inside the property stated the spaces were not allocated. Before I read that, at one point the space was taken up so I wasn't sure what to do. Clearer instructions in the email would be good. The location is great for York. Just a ten minute drive.
