The Light of the Desert earns its name out back. A private pool anchors a backyard made for long, unhurried days — stretch out on a lounge chair with the desert mountains on the horizon, fire up the BBQ as the sky shifts color, then gather around the firepit once the stars come out. There's outdoor dining for golden-hour meals, cornhole for a little friendly competition, and yoga mats waiting whenever you want to roll one out and greet the morning quietly.

Three bedrooms give everyone room to land. A king and two queen rooms sleep six in comfort, with two full bathrooms so no one's waiting in line. Ceiling fans, warm desert tones, and a few quiet corners make it as easy to nap as it is to host.

You're minutes from the heart of Yucca Valley, where local cafes, the airfield-side Copper Room, and a growing crop of desert eateries keep things interesting. Joshua Tree National Park sits a short drive away — start at the Black Rock Canyon trailhead close to town, or head for the iconic boulders and Joshua trees of the main entrance. To the northwest, Pioneertown and the legendary Pappy & Harriet's serve up live music and barbecue in an Old West setting, while a drive north leads to the famed sound baths of the Integratron. Out here, the night sky does most of the entertaining — and you'll have a firepit and a wide-open horizon to take it in.

- This home allows pets for a fee. If undisclosed pets are brought into the home without AvantStay's approval, there is a fine of $500 per pet.
- Desert wildlife and insects (scorpions, snakes, coyotes, etc.) may be encountered inside or outside; pest control is performed regularly.
- No refunds issued for wildlife encounters.
- Property uses natural gas. No home propane tank (grill and fire pit use separate propane tanks).
- No cell or Wi-Fi service inside Joshua Tree National Park.
- Reminder: there is no cell or wifi service once you're in the Park.
- Washer and dryer available for longer stays

This is a smoke-free property. Violation of the no-smoking policy will result in forfeiture of the security deposit, a $300 smoking fee, and liability for any fire or property damage costs.

As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9pm-8am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation.

Events or parties are not allowed without prior written approval and an additional fee. Any unauthorized parties or events will be shut down and a fine will be assessed. Please inquire for more information about our event policies and fees.

IDs will be requested for verification after booking. All bookings over 28 days require a security deposit.
