"Panelma Villa" is located just steps away from beach at the west coastline of Peloponnese. A fertile area of outstanding natural beauty and of great archaeological interest. Kato Taxiarches is a seaside settlement near the town of Zacharo. Archaeological sites, hot springs, unique natural sites and a huge sandy beach attract thousands of visitors every year. Panelma Villa consists of 4 bedrooms and accommodates max. 8 guests. Suitable for families with children, couples and group of friends.

The Space:
Placed in a quiet and safe area, Panelma Villa is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing and comfortable stay near the sea, away from the city buzz. The elevated ground floor consists of 1 bathroom, 1 bedroom with double bed and window doors leading to a spacious veranda, an open plan space with a functionally furnished lounge/living area, fireplace, dining table and a fully equipped kitchen. The first level consists of 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and large balconies. There are 2 double beds, 2 single beds and 1 pack’n play/travel crib (*available upon request).

Our spacious garden and large verandas are offered for celebrations of all types like weddings and kids parties. Free parking spots available inside the premises. The nearest beach is right across our facilities, at approximately 350m distance.

The Neighborhood:
Zacharo town, at 7km distance, offers a variety of restaurants and taverns, where among other things, you can taste fresh fish and delicious dishes of local cuisine. Apart from Zacharo town, we suggest you visit the nearby village of Kakovatos, at 5km distance. In Kakovatos you will find super market, cafeterias and don’t miss to taste fresh fish dishes at “Nikos Fish Tavern”. Another food option is “Avli Restaurant” in Naochori settlement, only 2km far from our building. The main agricultural products produced in region are raisins, olive oil, vegetables, wine (red, white and rosé), tomatoes and legumes. Amongst the many delicious local dishes, do not miss piglet, graters (small thin pasta) and boiled crabs for which the region is famous.

The area offers a complete combination of mountain, plain, sea, forest and lake, making up a landscape of unparalleled natural beauty. Holidaymakers can enjoy the sun and the sea in the beautiful well organized beach of Zacharo and indulge in water sports. Nature lovers, will love the tranquillity of the sandy (non-organized) beach near Panelma Villa. They will also have the opportunity to browse through pine forests and paddle in Kaiafas lake, located in the tranquil municipality of Zacharo, near Kalamata. The Kaiafas Thermal Springs features 2 springs located in a natural cave by the foot of Mount Lapithas. The water, coming out at 32-34 °C, is rich in sulfur compounds and minerals, with strong therapeutic properties. Here, according to mythology, Centaur Chiron washed his wounds, after wounded by Hercules. In Kaiafas baths flock every year numerous visitors to enjoy the beneficial and healing properties of its thermal waters. There is a modern hydrotherapy center with private baths and an outdoor pool, as well as other facilities for the many treatments available. The spa is operating from June to the end of October.

Lovers of the ancient cultural heritage will have the opportunity to venture to the nearby Ancient Olympia. The archaeological site is located within walking distance of the modern village called Ancient Olympia and it includes ruins from Bronze Age to the Byzantine eras. The site covers an expanded area of ruins scattered among low trees, as well as the ancient stadium where the first Olympic games took place. The nearby Olympia Museum, offers an impressive array of artifacts which were unearthed during excavations.

“Many cultural events are organized in the municipality of Zacharo throughout the year. Carnival, “Olive consolation” – Olive Festival in Kakovatos in August, the festival of Prophet Elias on July 20, the feast of Saint Spyridon the Patron Saint of the city on 12 December, which is large and imposing procession and the International Film Festival of Olympia for children and young people in December.”

Getting Around:
Panelma Villa is located in Kato Taxiarches settlement near Zacharo - Western Peloponnese. Kalamata international airport "Captain Vas. Konstantakopoulos" is approximately 72km far from the villa, while "Araxos" airport near Patra is at 110km distance.

Other Things to Note:
