The building is old but needs a lot of love with keeping it maintained. It could be such a beautiful B&B if more was put into it.

The best way to sum up the place is that it makes due. There's not many in the area so you are getting what you pay for. The upkeep needs some work but isn't the worst you will find. It seems like it was a real nice place once that has fallen off a bit with paint peeling and stained carpet in spots. The dining room is definitely the best place to be.

The Clawfoot bathtub and 4 poster bed are nice and the house is right by The Spa so it's setup for a relaxing stay and also Weddings. Would be neat to attend with a Book Club or a Gals Full Moon Outing especially with cooler weather when the upstairs rooms with Jacuzzis in the rooms can be used.

The inn was quaint and comfy. The only problem for us was when we got there at 830 pm to check in, there was no one at the desk to greet us . There were just envelopes with room keys left on a table and directions to get to our room of which we found very strange. I feel the staff should have let us know what to expect.

We didn't like that you couldn't watch the tv, as you had to have your own streaming service to connect to. When going to a hotel or B&B you would think you could watch news and thing before going to bed this was not on the website. Also, what was advertised was most rooms had whirlpool tubs, robes, but never was a listing of what your room came with, we found out when we got there that the breakfast time was at 8:30a.m. and it was continual breakfast not a real breakfast. This was a little disappointed and we never saw a single person.

Very beautiful historical home with each room specially and uniquely furnished. Breakfast was great and surroundings beautiful. Family staff very friendly and nice. Know it is an old home so some old things, air conditioner but worth staying and enjoying quiet setting.

Unfortunately, we were a little disappointed with the condition of Elk Forge. Many years ago in the early 2010s, the facility was beautiful and now it just seems run down. We did not look for any reviews because we had assumed it was still the same. It seems maybe new owners have taken over the property and starting from scratch to get it up and running. We had a nice evening, slept well in the Philadelphia room, but the facility is old, the breakfast was not great. It's definitely not what it once was. Hopefully the new owners can bring it back to life.

This is a hidden gem! The house has so much character and charm, and we enjoyed relaxing and playing games in the various sitting areas, all of which are full of sunlight and have beautiful forest views. It's delightful to enjoy breakfast in the conservatory. We were impressed how perfectly clean and quiet our room was. The double jacuzzi was an amazing bonus! We hope to stay again soon.

We stayed here as it was close to the university of Delaware where our daughter graduating that weekend. The property itself was very appealing aesthetically. The proprietor was an amusing guy and had a special effort to accommodate a dietary request for the breakfast. Our room was comfortable. I wish the curtains could completely block the sunlight that was really our only negative observation. We would definitely stay here again.

Great time. I enjoyed the trails and the sunny patio. I even deadlifted the old-school strongman equipment, watches birds, and sat in the library. Next time I'll book a room with a tub and the spa treatments for the complete experience. It was a great escape from the city.

My son & his wife stayed after their wedding and reception at the Chesapeake Inn. They said both said they would rate it a 4.5 of 5. I did find that whatever directions I put into my navigation took us on a long & winding road that led to a house on the other side of town. They said people come to their house often in search of the B&B. So it was a journey to get the happy couple there. They did enjoy their stay.

This B&B had so much character! So cozy and the staff was so nice. Breakfast in the morning was delicious and thoughtful. It was very easy for us to care for our horses at Fair Hill - about 8 minutes away. Only downside was a train I heard throughout the night... not sure if that is just seasonal. It could easily be covered with a white noise machine :)

Beautiful setting Quiet Wonderful breakfast Comfortable accommodations Easy check-in/check-out Beautifully appointed rooms in the main house, with antiques everywhere. The bathroom shower we had was a little inconvenient and I could see that some folks could struggle getting in and out of the large claw-foot tub. There are no grab bars. It wasn't particularly difficult for us, but could be a trip/fall hazard for others. Overall, the inn provided an exceptionally nice experience. I would definitely recommend it.
