The "Rosenhäuschen Nostalgie" is located right in the heart of the historic center of Kirnsulzbach (a district of Kirn). Many guests praise our “Nostalgie Rose Cottage” as a true gem where you immediately feel at home.

After many years of lying dormant, our freshly renovated old half-timbered house offers an atmosphere perfect for dreaming and enjoying yourself. The vacation home consists of two vacation apartments: “Heckenrose” and “Buschwindröschen.” You’ll also have access to a cozy, spacious kitchen-living room and a rustic wine cellar. In the large, rustic, and fenced-in garden, and on our adjacent little “Rothenberfarm,” you can relax wonderfully with our cashmere goats, baby goats, rabbits, runner ducks, Pomeranian geese, chickens, chicks, turkeys, and our dogs “Ely” and her daughter “Bina,” or host a hearty barbecue. Your beloved four-legged friends will also quickly feel at home here—though they must be kept on a leash in the garden because of our runner ducks. But in just three to four minutes, you’ll be surrounded by nearly untouched nature. A little while ago, a small café and restaurant reopened in our neighborhood.

If available, you can get fresh eggs from our happy chickens every day upon request, as well as other products from our little farm. From May through November, you’re welcome to help yourself to your heart’s content in our natural garden. If you’re lucky, you’ll find, for example, various lettuces, radishes, vegetables, tomatoes, zucchini, kohlrabi, and over 20 different herbs. We’d love to take you on a hike through the wild Trübenbach Valley with our cashmere goats and their kids, or enjoy a rustic “goat breakfast” on Staufenberg. For the kids, there’s also our cozy treehouse in the garden, complete with a “kitchen-diner” and a “bedroom.” Our rabbits and ducks are always happy to have visitors, too.

A paradise for hiking enthusiasts, whom we support as best we can with comprehensive hiking maps, information, and GPS, as well as personalized and exclusive hiking suggestions (plus geocaching).
Garden and Amenities: Our somewhat wild garden blends seamlessly into the adjacent overgrown orchard meadows and forested slopes of the Hunsrück, as well as into our poultry pen and goat pasture. A lovely treehouse for children with a cozy living and cooking area and the option to sleep in the attic. An outdoor seating area right behind the house, a barbecue area with seating, a garden pond inhabited by four ducks, and a lawn for sunbathing offer you a variety of ways to enjoy your vacation in nature. For cozy barbecue gatherings, we provide a swing grill, and charcoal or gas is available free of charge. Our cashmere goats would love to go for a hike (free of charge) with you.

In nearby Idar-Oberstein, you’ll find one of Europe’s largest gemstone regions. If you’d like to go on a treasure hunt yourself, we can provide you with a treasure map and tools. We can also supply you with hiking maps of the area and detailed information about the many attractions in the Nahe Valley. “Kleine Reblaus” Wine Cellar: Treat yourself to an unforgettable experience in our small, ancient vaulted cellar. By candlelight, not only will a cool Kirner beer in traditional mugs taste better than usual, but the aromatic, fruity Nahe wine will as well.

Hiking Adventures in the Wild Hunsrück and the Nahe Valley: You’ll find a wonderful opportunity to hike along numerous trails through wild and romantic valleys, past steep vineyards, and by majestic medieval castles and picturesque villages in one of Europe’s most beautiful low-mountain landscapes. Just a few minutes from our inn, the hiking trails begin, winding through the hills and valleys of the Hunsrück.
