Our experience started off poorly due to almost no communication from the host. We received the entry code only five minutes before check-in, which was very stressful. When we arrived, the house had a moth infestation and was listed as five bedrooms but had only four, with no gym, no theater, and the “indoor” hot tub dirty actually outside in garage. It also claimed to sleep 12, which was impossible.Cleanliness was unacceptable. The stove and oven were dirty, the refrigerator had mold and missing shelves, the dishwasher was filthy, full of mold, and didn’t work, and the couch was so dirty we cleaned it twice. There were bug nests in the living room and near the fridge, and ladybugs all over the bathroom sink. The sliding door barely opened and the shade was broken, giving us no privacy.Worst of all, the water heater didn’t work. A master plumber in our group confirmed the elements and a shower cartridge were bad. The owner repeatedly told us to “let it warm up,” and we only got one or two showers all weekend, even with a six-month-old baby. We contacted the owner and VRBO, but nothing was resolved. We left Saturday instead of Sunday because we had cleaned everything ourselves and had no reason to stay. The owner offered just 50 back.This is our sixth year doing this Thanksgiving trip, and this was by far the worst house. I would rate it below zero if possible.
